Charles October 23, 2017 for Model Number 11088752793 What voltage does the wiring on this switch carry?
1 Answer Hello Charles. The lid switch on the washer carries no voltage. It breaks the neutral circuit in the unit and causes the unit not to run. Thank you. Read More...
Lynda July 07, 2016 for Model Number 8578232 My washer will not run. A few years ago I had the same problem and the repairman said it was the the pin on the lid that did not have contact with the lid switch. I can feel the pin on the lid but not sure what to do with it and it is difficult to see.
1 Answer Hello Lynda. It sounds like the lid switch is bad and will need to be replaced on the unit. Read More...
Bing January 04, 2015 for Model Number mod.#110:88752792 Lid switch broke at mounting screws. Will replacement part 3355806 work with Kenmore stack unit mod.#110:88752792?
Jeff June 18, 2014 for Model Number 110.88752793 Hi, I have a 110.88752793 washer/dryer stack combo. My washer is not working and I think it due to that switch that the lid is supposed to hit. My washer will fill but will not spin and continue washing with the lid closed. If I manually use a stick and push in on the switch, it'll start up fine, but the lid by itself won't work. It needs about 1/4" more length than the length of the lid plastic thing that pushes it down. How do I get access to the switch?
1 Answer Hello Jeff, The lid switch WP3355806 is probably coming apart, since this is a common problem with this style of lid switch. To make the switch last longer, do not use it to turn off the machine, (use the timer knob to turn it off if you want to check on the load or add a garment), and try not to drop the lid but lower it gently. Paul May 25, 2014 for Model Number kenmore 111 mod 24422300 Lid switch looks to be loose. I have jammed a screwdriver in it to finish current load. Can I reattach it or do I need a new one?
1 Answer Paul, When you open the lid of the washer, there will be 2 screws on the inner lip of the opening. With the lid switch being loose you can try to tighten the screws and see if it tightens up. If it will not tighten then the lid switch WP3355806 would need to be replaced. Read More...
1 Answer Hello Dave! Yes, the lid switch WP3355806 is compatible with your Kenmore 110.88752793 model. Thanks! Read More...
Michael August 26, 2013 for Model Number YLTE5243DQ3 We have a stack combo unit (YLTE5243DQ3) and the washing machine has stopped draining. It appears the lid switch has come loose which is causing the unit not to drain. If I take a screw drive and depress the lid switch the machine drains. I do not know how to reattached the switch, can you provide some instructions on how to do this? Thanks MJH
1 Answer Hello Michael. It has not come loose, it is broke. You will remove the two screws securing the body and unplug the switch and remove it from the cabinet. Then install the new switch WP3355806 into the unit. Read More...
Thanh Thu June 15, 2013 for Model Number Whirlpool LTE5243DQ8 How to take apart or open to see and check the lid switch of washer? Thanks
1 Answer Hello Thanh. Disconnect the power to the unit. Remove the two screws in the upper corners of the lid panel securing the lid panel to the body. Remnove the panel. Next unplug the lid switch and remove the two brass colored clips securing the cabinet to the back wall using a flat blade screwdriver to pry them out. Pull on the front of the cabinet and slide the cabinet off the frame of the washer. You can now access and replace the lid switch. Reinstall in reverse order. Read More...
