Hello Seags83. You need to check and make sure the drive block is good and the motor coupling is good on the unit. Either will cause the issue you are having. If both are good, then you will need to replace the clutch in the unit.

Bill, You won't have to move the unit out of the closet, but you'll need to remove the top of the washer, to access the lid switch. " 1. Remove the Transition Panel by removing the three(3) screws. Tip the panel down and lift it out. 2. Release the two washer top retaining clips and slide the washer top forward off the unit. 3. Remove the two(two) washer Front Panel retaining 5/16 " screws. Then remove the Front Panel brace and remove the Front Panel." You should have access to the lid switch, and can disconnect the wire harness and replace the lid switch assembly WP3355806. Thanks

Eric for Model Number Whirlpool LTE5243BWO

I have a Whirlpool washer/dryer combo unit that will not spin and drain. The machine does fine until it comes to the spin and drain cycle and then just stops. I have clothes and water in the machine now and am thinking it might be the lid switch. Does this sound correct? I believe the Lid Switch part number for my machine is AP2947199. Will this part work for my machine? Also, How can I gain access to replace the part. Does the front panel come off? Or does the top have to come off? Is there a way to rig the machine to get my water out and clothes to spin before I buy a new part. I really don't want to deal with draining the machine by hand. Thanks for your time, Eric

Hello Clair. Based on the model number you provided, WP3355806 is the correct lid switch. You will release the clips on the front panel of the washer to access and replace the switch. You can use a flat blade putty knife or butter knife to do this. Hope this helps.
