Hello Sharon, The bulb should unscrew from the socket assembly WB8K5042. If you cannot remove the bulb and want to remove the socket you will have to remove the main back of the unit to access the socket. It is held in by metal tabs made on this assembly. Removing the wires to the light socket and depressing the tabs will allow you to remove the light socket from inside the bake compartment.

Tony B for Model Number 9825XUB

Hi I was referred to you by Kyle from the chat department I have a Magic Chef Double Wall Oven. I changed the upper bulb with difficulty. I know I will have to replace the light unit in the near future. I looked up light assemble AP5691871 The video show how to replace light unit on a self standing stove. Is this the same light assembly? How is replacement made? Can I do this from inside the oven without taking the double oven out of the wall? If so, do I snap the clips the same way to take out the unit. Will wires in the back of over come through the hole so I can connect the new light assemble? Your help would be appreciated so that I might order and install the proper light assembly. I did replace the front glass on the upper oven a short time ago so I am familiar with working on unit so long as I don't have to take full wall oven out. Thank You

Tony, The light assembly will come out from the inside but if possible would be best to remove the wall oven from installation in order to access the clips to depress to get the light assembly out. This is similar to the one in the video but may need not be exactly the same. The wires may not be long enough to come through. You could try like the video but may be necessary to remove the oven.

W. Sullivan, You will want to pull the unit out and access the light socket and check voltage to the socket to make sure that it is getting 120 vac to it. If the voltage is too high then you will need to replace the control board. If it has proper voltage then the socket would most likely be the issue.

Hello Barbara. If there is no lens inside the unit to remove the bulb, you will have to remove the outer cover off the microwave to replace the light bulb in the unit.
