Sheila R for Model Number ge over the stove microwave # unknown as the sticker has been removed

we have a ge micro that has no sticker/ model #, the 2 surface lights have burned out. the bulbs I took out are KEI125V40W... They worked in there until they didn't, but are these the correct bulb #s for a GE? ( we bought it as a scrath and dent, so I'm not sure they are original to the oven... when i asked at lowes, the guy told me I had to go to GE... any help is appreciated thank you....

Richard, With the unit unplugged you can try to get the base of the bulb out with a pair of needle nose pliers or use a small piece of potatoe and push it over the base and try to twist it out.

Hello Galen. You can not replace the bulb in the control panel. You must remove the outer cover to change the bulb in the cavity. However, if the display is bad, you will need to replace the control board in the unit.
