1 Answer Karen, To remove the light you will need to slide the cover off to one side. Under the cover some units use two screws with plastic clips around the outside of the light, other units just use clips pushed into the lining of the refrigerator. Mike June 12, 2020 for Model Number WRS325FDAM04 The led light in the freezer completely off and the LEDs in the refrigerator are really dim and sometimes turn on slowly but still dim when you open the refrigerator door. I thought what's wrong was a bad freezer light switch...then from what I have read, here and other places...it could be the master LED module. Can you help?
1 Answer Mike, the freezer LED WPW10515057 would need to be tested for 12VDC. If it has 12VDC going to it, then it has failed and is causing the symptoms to occur in the other lights. Based on the information provided, the most likely thing happening is that the freezer LED is shorted out and is receiving 12VDC. Pavel June 10, 2020 for Model Number WRS325FDAW04 Hello, Yesterday we noticed that all the lights in my Whirlpool are off. There are at least 3 lights in this model - 2 in the refrigerator section and one (or two?) in the fridge. What is the right procedure to check what light should be replaced? Can it be any other reason for the issue? I know about 10 minutes auto-off but it looks like it is not the case.
1 Answer Pavel, the top refrigerator light WPW10515058 would need to be tested for 120VAC from the yellow wire to the white wire when the door is open. If there is 120VAC, the next step would be to test for 11-14VDC from the yellow (with red tracer) wire to the red wire. If there is not 11-14VDC, the top refrigerator light would need to be replaced. If there was not 120VAC, the refrigerator door switch would need to be tested for 120VAC at the yellow wire to identify if it is allowing voltage through. Suzy June 09, 2020 for Model Number WRX 988 S1BM03 the lights in the ceiling part of the fridge and the one in the freezer are strobing. ( not the ones on the side) the unit is 2017. can I fix this myself?
1 Answer Hello Suzy, the LED light modules are wired in series, any fault of one affects all the others. The most likely faulty one is the one in the freezer on the ceiling, it is part W11683243. To replace it or any of them unplug the ref from power and using a putty knife carefully pry it out of the liner and again be careful with the attached wiring, unplug the wires and plug in new module and reinsert it into the liner, plug ref back in. With the black probe of a meter on the yellow/red wire and the red probe on the gray wire, there should be between 11 to 14VDC. Jaggersden May 13, 2020 for Model Number Cant get to it, I have a 2-year-old "Magic Chef fridge donated to me by home depot that has started giving me trouble. This is apartment sized and in a built-in area. Presently it is chock full of vitals and I can't move it out, At 77 things get tougher to do. The fridge is working fine but the light is going bonkers, it is a single bulb unit. From what I am reading the bulb is likely a WPW1550157. I have yet to read how to get the cover off of it, then I should know. Jag.

Usually, with a light cover, there will be a locking tab that would need to be pressed in or the cover would slide backward.
