Foy January 12, 2020 for Model Number WRS325FDAW04 I have a Whirlpool refrigerator where the freezer light is out but the refrigerator side (ceiling) light is very dim. I see only 4 LED light lit very dim when I open the refrigerator door. Is the freezer light the cause? The part number says W10515057 in orange label. Whirlpool says the warranty does not cover lights. The refrigerator is about 2 years old. Thank you!

Heather January 08, 2020 for Model Number WRS322FDAW00 I have a Whirlpool side by side refrigerator. The light on the freezer side has been out for a very long time. The lights in the refrigerator side would both be dim for several minutes, then would both brighten simultaneously. A couple of days ago, all lights stopped working. (Expect for last night....I had both doors open and closed the freezer side, suddenly both refrigerator lights came on will full brightness. They stayed on until I closed and re-opened the refrigerator door. Now they are all out again.)

Mary December 10, 2019 for Model Number WRS325FDAW04 Hello, the original problem was 2 dim lights in the refrigerator. Note that this model only has two lights. It doesn't have a freezer light. I replaced the master light WPW10515058 from AppliancePartsPros. I still have dim light. I ordered the slave light WPW10515057. Again, still dim light that now ramps up to dim. I tested continuity in the door switch. It's good. Does voltage go through defrost board on this model? I don't believe it does. Could one of my replacement lights be faulty? And on this model would tell me which probe to which wire for master and slave light in order to test voltages. Thank you for your time.
1 Answer Mary, the LED lights are supplied voltage directly from L1 when it passes through the door switch. The master light distributes the voltage to the secondary refrigerator light, which then goes to the freezer light WPW10515057 located in the back under the auger assembly. The freezer light can be tested for 11-14VDC. Since the two refrigerator lights are dim, they are receiving voltage, but the freezer light being shorted out can cause a voltage drop. The master light is tested red probe on red wire, black probe on yellow wire with red tracer. The secondary refrigerator light is tested red probe on red wire to black probe on gray wire.
