Charlie May 23, 2013 for Model Number whirlpool super capacity 465 SF395LEEQ The oven works, but the all 4 gas burners do not make clicking sound, I can smell gas, so gas is flowing. After chat with appliancepartspros, I purchased ignitor, AP3031050 (8053421). Q/A says to open the BACK of the stove, and another says LIFT the TOP to replace the part. How can I reach the part with my Whirlpool Super Capacity 465 aka SF395LEEQ?
1 Answer Hello Charlie. You need to check the module and the switches, not the igniter. The module or switches will cause the issue you are having with the unit. If the switches are closing, replace the module. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html Read More...
Deborah April 08, 2013 for Model Number whirlpool sf305peen my whirlpool oven, model sf305peen, is not working. the top burners work fine but, the oven will not turn on, no gas is entering, of course, no gas smell or build-up, just nothing. explain ignighter, vs gas. deborah
1 Answer Deborah, Since the top burners work, gas supply is not the issue. Your range regulator / valve assembly 3196544 doesn't have an isolation valve, so gas supply to the oven burner is not the issue. When you select a temperature on the thermostat or ERC/Clock, the circuit closes and produces 120 VAC to the igniter, the igniter should start to glow, when the igniter glows long enough to produce 2.5 to 3.0 amps (round igniter) usually takes less than 60 seconds, the amperage draw causes the internal bi metal switch, in the safety valve to open and the burner ignites (the igniter produces approx.2300 dgrs. F. if operating properly). If the igniter glows, but does not produce the proper amperage, the burner won't ignite. 95 % of gas oven cooking or temperature issues are attributed to weak or inoperative igniters. Read More...
Bryan January 18, 2013 for Model Number I have a kichen aid cook top w/ a whirlpool ignition module 8054321 I have eratic spark at my burners. I pulled off the top to witness what was happening. I sometimes see a spark jumping across the terminals at the module and sometimes see a jump of a spark from the ignition terminal to the rail that holds the burners. I also witness a flash ( or a spark within the spark module as everything is sparking. There is a little black spot on the back side of the module. I think I should replace my module and maybe insulate , with elec. tape a all connections. Thoughts?

Molly E December 28, 2012 for Model Number kgct305gbl1 The ignitor switches keep clicking on all the burners when you light up only one and the flame is very low when it finally lights
1 Answer Hello Molly, You will first want to do a continuity check on the ignitor switches WP3191334. Unplug unit and test each switch for continuity. They should all read open. If you have one that reads closed then you have a bad switch and it would need to be replaced. If this checks ok look for a short to ground on the wiring to the spark module. If this checks ok then you will want to replace the spark module WP8053421. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html Read More...
R. A. G. October 15, 2012 for Model Number SC8640EDQ6 Hello!! My cooktop isn't igniting. There is no clicking and none of the burners will ignite without the use of a match or handheld lighter. After reading many of the comments on this part number: AP3031050 (MFG Part #: 8053421), it seems that the spark module should be replaced. Is this what you would recommend, and do you have detailed instructions for this model on how to replace this specific part? Thank you for your help!! RA
1 Answer R.A. You're most likely on target. You won't really know if you have a damaged wire, until you remove the grates, caps and burners and remove the cooktop. but you'd want to have the spark module WP8053421 on hand Read More...

I'm not sure if the spark module is also responsible for lighting the oven or just the top burners. Do you suggest replacing the spark module?
1 Answer Hello Jeff, I would suggest to replace the spark module WP8053421 if the ground to it and the unit is good. Read More...

Jay January 31, 2012 for Model Number sf325peewo The ignitors on my cooktop burners work part of the time but most of the time they do not. I have noticed that if I unplug the stove overnight and plug back in the next morning the ignitors will work for about a day and then quite working, is the problem the spark module?
1 Answer Hello Jay! Yes, it does sound like the spark module WPW10110491 is shorting out and will need to be replaced. Thanks! Read More...
