Richard E. December 02, 2011 for Model Number 501A Norton oven ignitor The length and appearance seems to match the ignitor I want to replace in my Magic Chef model 61DA-3KLW gas stove (purchased 1983). Also stamped on the side of the ignitor:E205B-34AM Just wanted to confirm this is compatable. Thank You!
1 Answer Hi E.M. Remove the back panel. Remove the power. Unhook the oven sensor and ohm out the wires to see if they are 1060 ohms. Not open or shorted. You have a combination gas valve that fuels both broil and bake. Part # is WPW10293048. Unlikely that both igniters are open. They will ohm cold at 50 - 800 ohms. Part # is WP8054129. Thank you. Casillas August 06, 2011 for Model Number ARGS7650SS MANUFACT P1130766NSS When I turn on the oven on bake on my amana gas stove it takes more than one hr to get 200. Can you please help me find the solution.
1 Answer Casillas, This is a "gas" Range, and you most likely have a weak or broken oven igniter, and will need WP31940001 an oven igniter. Not only does the igniter have to glow, at the same time it has to draw 3.2 to 3.6 amps and produce 3.2 to 3.6 VAC to the oven burner valve, in order for the gas valve switch to open and release the gas. Thanks and Good Luck. Read More...
Casillas August 06, 2011 for Model Number ARGS7650SS Manufact P1130766NSS My gas stove electronic igniter sparks all the time even when is off.
1 Answer Hi Casillas. Check your outlet and see if you have it plugged in backwards. This will create the spark module to short out and send power to it all the time. If your polarity is correct, then you will need to replace the spark module part # is 32020101. Thank you. Read More...

Terrabill June 07, 2011 for Model Number arg7102w My Amana arg7102w oven stopped working. Burners are fine. For a week it was heating but I also smelled unburnt gas. Now it won't heat anymore. The igniter glows but now there is no gas to ignite. Expected to find a thermocouple in the parts but none. Any idea what I need to replace? How does this design know if there's an igniter working to allow gas flow? What am I missing? Thanks!
1 Answer Hello Terrabill. It sounds like you have a weak igniter 786324, and it will need to be replaced. Hope this helps. Read More...
