Martina M June 20, 2015 for Model Number ED5FHGXKT03 Side by side fridge was not cooling. Replaced the relay and overload. Cooling felt fine. After a while I opened one of the doors and the rubber gasket was HOT. I then realized it came from the center post. Googled this and checked the condenser fan. It was fine too. I vacuumed the very stopped up coils. It is still hot in the center where the doors meet. Now what?
1 Answer Hello Martina. That is normal to get hot. It keeps moisture from forming on there from the extreme cold of the compartments. As long as the condenser fan is running and the coils are clean, you should be fine. Read More...
Edward May 20, 2015 for Model Number ED5GTQXKQ02 The Whirlpool side-by-side refrigerator section nor freezer section is cooling. All lights are on and I can hear the fan blowing.
1 Answer Hello Edward, If the compressor is not running you will most likely need to replace the start device 8201786 or the thermostat WP2198202 if no voltage is being sent to the compressor. If the compressor is running you will need to check the rear wall of the freezer for a frost build-up which indicates a defrost issue. Read More...

James November 06, 2014 for Model Number Kenmore refrigerator Refrigerator cool and appears to work. Fairly loud click and followed by a humm then refrigerator starts running. Seems to run more often with more frequent noise now. Could this be the relay?
1 Answer Hello James. If the humming is from the compressor, then it sounds like the compressor may be on it's way out. It is not the relay. If your unit uses a capacitor, you could try replacing it. Read More...
