Wally July 03, 2014 for Model Number 10654616300 My refrigerator compressor seems to be clicking on and off after a couple seconds, every 60secs or so and stopped cooling. I believe it to be the relay. From the parts list and the parts I pulled of the compressor, looks like I need a capacitor, start-dev and overload. However, when I look at the overload (p/n 4387835) I don't see that on the compressor in my refrigerator. On APP it's called Compressor starting device. Is the start-dev (p/n 2255198) the same thing? Do I need all 3 components or just the capacitor and start-dev?
1 Answer Wally, The start device for your refrigerator is part number WP2319792 and this is a combo overload/relay. For the capacitor you would need WPW10662129. Read More...
James N. May 31, 2014 for Model Number GS6SHEXML00 I have this model refrigerator that the relay clicks, but the compressor does not start. ie no cooling at all. I want to replace the relay, and start capacitor together. It's an Embraco 437NFBYY. I have removed the relay from the compressor and I'm waiting for the voltage output of the relay to display on my voltmeter. I am assuming that if I see the voltage, the compressor is bad. If no voltage when the relay kicks in, then I'm assuming the relay/capacitor is bad. Can you help with the correct part number to order if it;s the relay/capacitor?
1 Answer James, the start device listed for your model is part number WP2319792. Thanks! Read More...
Stumped April 10, 2014 for Model Number Whirlpool ED25TWXDW01 Hi, I need a start relay and overload for the referenced refrigerator. When I go from the parts diagram to the part, I only see the overload - 2154697 (AP3040426). From that page, there is a link to the overload and relay together 4387835 (AP3083556) but on that page it doesn't show my refrigerator in the cross reference section. Any ideas? Thanks.
1 Answer Hello! According to the model number given you can use relay/overload kit part number 4387913. Thanks! Read More...
Charles W. March 27, 2014 for Model Number KSRG25FKBT04 Just changed the start relay and capacitor that I had ordered from APP.com two days ago, the refrigerator/freezer are cooling but the compressor is very hot. Is this normal?

Scott S. March 25, 2014 for Model Number KSRB27FHSS01 The refrigerator and freezer compartments are not cooling. There is a clicking noise when it is trying to turn on. The light dims since there is a drain on electricity. Is this the compressor or just the starter?
1 Answer Hello Scott, This might be the compressor or the start relay. The best way to figure it out is by replacing the start relay W10920279. If it fails within 2 days, there is an issue with the compressor. If not, the relay was the only issue. Read More...
Darron December 20, 2013 for Model Number 10654683300 How do I install part 4387835 start relay on to a Kenmore refrigerator compressor. Model number 10654683300
1 Answer Darron, The red wire will connect to the white overload and the white wire will connect to the right side terminal of the start relay. If there is a gang plug on the original then you would need to get 2 female spade terminals Read More...
Wayne December 10, 2013 for Model Number EMBRACO EGY 90HLP I ordered Whirlpool 4387835 Overload for Refrigerator part but no wiring diagram goes with it. I have 2 incoming wires from the power source, one that goes and one that comes from a capacitor. The relay that came has 3 pins and the overload that came has one. How would I install this? Where do the wired connect to?
1 Answer Hello Wayne. We will need your model number to help you with this. Please call 1-877-477-7278 or post your model number with a new question on the parts page. http://www.appliancepartspros.com/modelnumber_locator.aspx Read More...
Dave October 15, 2013 for Model Number kenmore 106.58787892 Hi, My refrigerator intermittently stops working. When this happens and I turn the thermostat down, the light will flicker. At this point the fridge sometimes won't start unless I leave the thermostat off for several minutes. When it does start it may only run for 5 - 10 minutes, in which case I go through this procedure again, or it might work properly for several days. I was originally thinking that this was a thermostat problem, but realize that it could also be overload protection or starting relay(s) problem. Thanks, Dave
1 Answer Hello Dave. If shutting off, it is the cold control. If the compressor does not run, it is a bad compressor. If overload was bad, it would never run right and cool. Read More...
