1 Answer Bob, Yes, Thats a great place to start, and is more likely the issue 6-919825 . It's a project you should be able to perform yourself with some basic hand tools and a #15 "Torx" tip driver. Heres some help, The Membrane/Facia on the Control Console is not replaceable. Removal 1. Disconnect power to the machine. 2. Remove the Inner Door Panel. (See paragraph Inner Door Panel removal). 3. Remove PC Board Housing Cover. 4. Disconnect Membrane Switch from PC Board. 5. Remove PC Board Base. 6. Lift out Latch Assembly. 7. Remove 4 screws securing Control Panel to Outer Door. NOTE: Facia is susceptible to damage during reinstallation. Inner Door Panel Removal of the Inner Door Panel will allow access to the Microprocessor Board, Door Switches, Detergent / Rinse Aid Dispenser, and Vent Assembly. Removal 1. Disconnect power to the machine. 2. Open the Dishwasher door. 3. Remove the 11 Torx™ screws along the sides and top of the Inner Door Panel. 4. Separate the Inner Door Panel from the Outer Door. 5. Disconnect wires from the Dispenser Wax Motors before pulling the Inner Door Panel away from the Dishwasher. You'll do fine. Good Luck and Thanks Read More...

Mark July 28, 2011 for Model Number MDB7601AWB The dishwasher will only work when the Heavy wash button is pushed, then close the door and push Time Delay & then start. At that point it takes an hour or so before it starts. The only lights that are on (on top of the door) are the Heavy Wash / HiTemp Wash & then a horizontal dash on the front. Does this sound like the problem is the control panel?

John July 28, 2011 for Model Number mdb9601awb The auto clean cycle will not come on. The rest of the cycles light up. The heavy wash cycle lights up, and when you push the start button it will not start.
1 Answer Hi John. There is a service technician sheet behind the toe kick panel. Try to access this and get the unit to folloe the field service test mode. This will lead you to the area in question. Howeever if you cannot get it to start or enter a command such as the heavy wash, I am concerned about the motor windings. The motor is part # 6-919922. Is it bringing up any codes? Thank you.
