Richard October 30, 2015 for Model Number GSS26C4XXW03 We have to install a whole house water filtration system. Since we would not need a filter, can I take the water filter out of our refrigerator or is there a plug for that purpose.
Jay L October 21, 2015 for Model Number Kenmore Coldspot fridge model 106.44433603 We added reverse osmosis to our house. I want to bypass the fridge water filter and was told by Sears that I need a bypass plug. So I bought what they said I need but it is a short little plug. The filter I need to replace is a long filter that goes under the fridge through the grille. I don't see how to get this little plug into the under the fridge area. All "how to" videos on the internet show a filter being replaced that is in the fresh compartment of the refrigerator, not the area under the fridge.
Rebecca October 13, 2015 for Model Number WRF989SDAH03 Does this model require a bypass plug to function? We already have a house-wide filter and the fridge seems to function fine without a filter or plug. Thanks!
1 Answer Hello Rebecca. Per Factory There Is No Bypass Plug For This Filter. Can Be Removed. Read More...

Mark September 24, 2015 for Model Number WRX988SIBM The water dispensed from the fridge dispenser appears clear. When ice is dispensed from the fridge, it adds a lot of whitish to semi clear "floaties" to the water. The filter is about 2 months old. We flushed the system as directed and do not have the issue when just dispensing the water. It is only when we use the ice from the fridge. This is a newly purchased appliance (2 months old). Is there something causing these floaties from the ice?
1 Answer Hello Mark. Check the tubes going to the icemaker and the icemaker its self. Either could cause the white particles. Read More...

Ted September 01, 2015 for Model Number WRS571CIDM01 I see many questions regarding not using a water filter. My water line to the refrigerator is coming from a reverse osmosis system under my kitchen sink. Can I run the water & ice dispenser on this model, which was just delivered today, without the filter being in place? Also, the owner's manual says 1 cup of dispensed water in about 8 seconds. I'm getting half that. Will removing the filter, assuming I can do so, help with more pressure? Otherwise I'll grow even older waiting for chilled water.
1 Answer Hello Ted. Reverse Osmosis Water Supply IMPORTANT: The pressure of the water supply coming out of a reverse osmosis system going to the water inlet valve of the refrigerator needs to be between 30 and 120 psi (207 and 827 kPa). If a reverse osmosis water filtration system is connected to your cold water supply, the water pressure to the reverse osmosis system needs to be a minimum of 40 to 60 psi (276 to 414 kPa). If the water pressure to the reverse osmosis system is less than 40 to 60 psi (276 to 414 kPa): ¦ Check to see whether the sediment filter in the reverse osmosis system is blocked. Replace the filter if necessary. ¦ Allow the storage tank on the reverse osmosis system to refill after heavy usage. ¦ If your refrigerator has a water filter, it may further reduce the water pressure when used in conjunction with a reverse osmosis system. Remove the water filter. No By Pass Required Remove Filter. If you have questions about your water pressure, call a licensed, qualified plumber. Read More...
