Bob, Thanks for the questions!!! Yes, No, No, Yes. LOL just having fun! The tank chilled water is filtered but tank water is not sent to the icemaker. This model fridge is equipped with an auto-by-pass, meaning if the filter is removed it is bypassed. Removing the filter means that the fridge uses the quality of the water that it is hooked up to. I would advise if you are on city water to still use the filter as city water can often cause damage to components in the water system over time.
