Richard December 19, 2013 for Model Number MGD5600TQ0 The gas will not come out. I have replaced the coils (coils chatter). Is this a bad heat sensor?
1 Answer Hello Richard, This would be caused by low gas pressure, a bad coil 279834 on the gas valve or a failing gas valve WP8318277. Read More...
1 Answer Hello Steve. It should read closed for continuity and then open when it gets hot. Read More...
Juan November 29, 2013 for Model Number glgr341as2 Having issues with a gas dryer, just put in new motor and blower. Now have trouble getting fire or burner on, igniter glows for a few seconds, but no heat, also had changed coil pack, thought it might be of help, old pack are still good.getting good reading,
1 Answer Juan, if the igniter does it's job and ignites the gas, but the flame is only on for a few seconds, you'll need to check for a clogged exhaust vent system, or blockage in the air duct on the front panel 131621903. If the igniter doesn't glow or is a constant glow, then test ot replace the flame sensor WP338906. If the igniter glows then cycles off, but there is no flame, you'll need to check for proper gas supply to the gas valve and check for any loose connections to the new coils. Read More...
Mario November 13, 2013 for Model Number Whirlpool SGDS800MQ0 My dryer takes two cycles to dry clothes. I have cleaned out the vent going outside. The igniter lights and goes on for 6 minutes and then shuts off and does not come back on. I have disconnected the vent and it does the same thing. Is it the flame sensor or gas coils or something else?
1 Answer Hello Mario. You need to check the flame sensor and the thermostats in the unit. Read More...
Keith October 16, 2013 My whirlpool gas dryer Model # lgq8000jq5, takes two complete cycles or settings to dry the cloths. I cleaned the rear, lint trap, and also cleaned the interior of the machine, removed the drum and cleaned the burner and motor. I hope you can help.
1 Answer Hello Keith. Run without vent pipe hooked up and see if it dries them in one drying. If so, it is a vent issue and in most cases, this is the problem. Read More...
Mike October 07, 2013 for Model Number lgr6636pwo Drum spins but no voltage going to gas valve solenoids or ignitor. What next?
1 Answer Hello Mike. You will need to test the thermostats and the flame sensor and make sure they are good. They should read closed for continuity. Also, check the igniter to see if it is good. If it is not glowing, test for power. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter for the testing procedures. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html Read More...
Dick October 03, 2013 for Model Number 110.78432700 Kenmore Dryer Dryer did not heat. No glow looking through peep hole provided. Checked all the sensors with an ohmmeter and it suddenly worked for awhile. Then same problem that claim clear after checking sensors with an ohmmeter. Last time instead of using an ohmmeter, I tied a jumper strap across the terminals of the flame sensor first (intended to use that approach with all sensors, so as not to disturb them with the battery from the ohmmeter). Using the jumper gave me the glow I was looking for. Pulling the jumper off ignited the gas. (Of course it started working again without the jumper strap). Am I safe in thinking the problem is with a lack of continuity through the flame sensor that prevents the igniter from glowing?
1 Answer Hello Dick. It sounds like the flame sensor is bad and will need to be replaced on the unit. Read More...
Nancy September 18, 2013 for Model Number ltg6234d thintwin washer dryer combo Dryer originally stopped turnin off on one setting only. used another setting then another problem arose. now ignitor lites. stays on about 10 secs then turns off. cleaned thoroughly of lint. replaced the gas valve coils. still no luck.
1 Answer Nancy, You will want to test your flame sensor and see if reads open or closed. If it reads open at room temperature then it is faulty and would need to be replaced. Read More...
Kirby September 14, 2013 for Model Number Whirlpool gas dryer LGR8648LGO Dyer runs but does not ignite. I can see the igniter glow but do not smell gas or have any flame. Should the fuse in the back be normally closed and how do I check the or sensors and such?
1 Answer Hello Kirby. You will need to test the thermostats and the flame sensor and make sure they are good. They should read closed for continuity. Also, check the igniter to see if it is good. If it is not glowing, test for power. Rando August 31, 2013 for Model Number estate gas dryer model tgds840jq1 my dryer works does not heat up changed both thermostats and glow plug no flame could it be a flame senser?
1 Answer Rando, Yes, the issue could be the flame sensor WP338906, But there are still other possible, more likely issues. Remove the lower access panel, and start the dryer in a heat cycle. observe what occurs, if the igniter 279311 comes on and glows "white hot" and cycles off, the flame sensor is not the issue. The issue would be in the gas valve coils 279834 or no gas supplied to the dryer. Read More...
