Jeff February 05, 2013 for Model Number GC5SHGXLQ00 I just replaced the ice maker (part number 4317943) on this refrigerator and it still doesn't work. I know the water valve is working, but the ice maker isn't cycling. I also checked power to the ice maker and it is getting 125.4 volts. Any suggestions as to what to check next.
1 Answer Hello Jeff. Check and make sure the freezer is 0° and the fill tube for the icemaker is not frozen. Also, make sure the water valve is good on the unit. Read More...

John January 21, 2013 for Model Number Amanda TXI21A3L Hi, The ice maker in my Amanda refriderator makes ice fine. However, black stuff is on some of the ice cubes. The fridge sat idle for a few years. I was wondering what the black stuff was. I was thinking it is a coating on the ice maker to help the cubes slip out easier or it could be mold. Any thoughts? I guess I could remove the ice maker to have a look at it, clean it up and re-install it. Thanks, John
1 Answer Hello John, This would more than likely be the mold of the icemaker D7824706Q deteriorating and would need to be replaced. Read More...

Tom January 13, 2013 for Model Number Ksrs25q and ksrb25q Seems like water over flows when filling icemaker and cubes to freeze together in bin. Thank you. both these model numbers were on door. It's a kitchen aide side by side.
1 Answer Hello Tom, It sounds like the icemaker mold has started deteroirating or the icemaker fill cup is frozen from water seeping through water valve. You will want to remove icemaker and check the fill cup for ice. If no ice look at the mold of icemaker. If deteriorating you will want to replace the icemaker. Read More...
Mickey January 11, 2013 for Model Number GD5PHAXMS10 I think my ice maker is broken. I switched the wires on the solonides and pushed the water dispenser water went into the tray.
1 Answer Hello Mickey, You would want to pull icemaker out of the unit and check to make sure that the pin in the center of the large gear is not broken. If pin is broken replace the module W10190935. You also want to check the emitter board W11629974. The emitter board is where you turn the icemaker on and off. There should be a flashing light when you have the door open. If the light is not flashing then push the light switch and push on the flapper on the left side wall of freezer, see if the light does quick flashes. If it does then the unit is in a harvest mode. If it does not then you need to replace the emitter board. If the light is flashing when the door is open then just push on the flapper without pushing light switch and see if light glows solid. If it does not and continues to flash then you need a new emitter board. If it does glow solid then the issue is in the icemaker 2198597. Read More...
Noreen January 11, 2013 for Model Number gd5shgxkto2 Our icemaker sometimes doesn't drop the whole load, one gets stuck and when that happens the water tries to come in and make another load of ice but backs up and freezes the line feeding water to the icemaker...what should we do???.
1 Answer Hello Noreen. Check and make sure the cubes are large enough and that the cubes are not hollow. If all is good, you will need to order and replace the icemaker. If the cubes are hollow, make sure the temperature inside the unit is at 0°. If the cubes are to small, replace the water valve and filter on the unit. Read More...
