Chris December 05, 2017 for Model Number kuic18nnxs0 Ice maker seems like it isn't calling for water. I drained the bin but nothing seems it initiate water to fill the pan. Any thoughts?
1 Answer Chris, Test for 120 vac to the water valve to see if there is voltage when the unit should be calling for water. If there is power then check to make sure that the lines are not frozen and if not frozen then will be a faulty water valve or a bad water level sensor. Read More...
John February 22, 2017 for Model Number KUIC15NRXS1 The area where the bin full sensor gets excess moisture. One of the pins corroded away so replaced the sensor and it worked. Now the pin on the other end corroded away so I replaced the connectors with wire nuts but it didn't work. How do I fix the wire harness on the other end? I think maybe that middle wire that has seen excess moisture is the issue. Why does that area get moisture and if it is supposed to why such a poor design in connectors?
1 Answer John, The only way to correct the harness would be to replace the wiring harness on the unit. As for the moisture issue, there is moisture that will drip onto the the unit when it goes into a ice release stage. Read More...
Brad January 06, 2017 for Model Number KUIC15PLTS1 Ice maker works but Ice melt is not pumped out. So ice with water to the top, is it the drain assembly or the pump sensor that requires replacement?? or both?? Thanks I first thought it would be the pump but if the sensor was bad it might be that and would not the sensor shut down the ice making if the pump stopped??
1 Answer Brad, This unit would have one of 2 different types of drains. One would be gravity fed in which case the drain would be clogged up if the unit is not draining. The second would be a auxiliary drain pump that is under the unit. If this drain pump is bad then it will cause the unit to not drain and the pump would need to be replaced. The part number for the drain pump is 1901A. Read More...
Johnny December 29, 2016 for Model Number KUIS15NRTB2 Can I test the water level sensor while its out of the unit with a multimeter? If so what should it read? Thanks
1 Answer Hello Johnny, I'm sorry but the manufacturer does not give a difinitive test for the water level sensor. The manufacturer recommends to only test it using the "Service Diagnostics Only". 2313702 includes both the pump and the water level sensor. Read More...
Peter October 15, 2016 for Model Number Kuic15prxs1 Ice maker will work for awhile.....it then would shut down totally. No on light!! It would at sometime come back on. I found a broken black wire at thermometer sensor Connector.
1 Answer Peter, If you have a broken wire you will want to fix the wire and if this does not correct then it may require a new wiring harness. Read More...
Wayne July 27, 2016 for Model Number GI15NDXXS1 Johnny, how did you test the water level sensor?? Multimeter?? If so, how!! Would really appreciate the info!! Thanks
1 Answer Wayne, The only way to test the water level sensor is in the diagnostics mode. If you take the tech sheet from behind the lower panel, this information should be located on the tech sheet. Read More...
Johnny C May 22, 2016 for Model Number GI15NDXXS1 Not making ice. During diagnostics the water level sensor fails to sense reservoir is full, yet seems to fill perfectly. Also during the test, the evaporator fails to cool yet I can hear the fan and condenser run. Does system logic prevent the evaporator from cooling if the water level sensor fails? Replacing the sensor would be an easy fix compared to replacing the evaporator!
1 Answer Johnny, If the compressor comes on and water cycles across the evaporator then the issue will not be with the water level sensor. This issue would be caused by a restriction or leak in the sealed system. Read More...
Abowers1696 May 03, 2016 for Model Number GI15NDXTS0 I replaced the recirculating pump but it does not kick on. The reservoir fills up and then stops. Then starts again and overfills. Would a bad reservoir sensor cause this to happen?
1 Answer Hello Abowers1696, This can be caused by a reservoir sensor WPW10548509 or the control WPW10141364. Read More...
Robert March 28, 2016 for Model Number GI15NDXTB1 It started making too much ice. It would over fill the bin to where it would fall out when we opened the door. We turned it off to stop. Then the service light came on and stays on. What might we order to solve both issues, and thank you.
1 Answer Robert, The issue with the unit will most likely be a faulty bin thermistor. The part number for the bin thermistor is WPW10503764. Read More...
Mike March 10, 2016 for Model Number KUIC18NNTS0 My ice machine will not stop making ice and overflows. Is there a sensor that regulates the ice and if so where might that be? Thanks
1 Answer Hello Mike. You will need to order and replace the bin thermistor WPW10503764 in the unit. Read More...
