The Pan Slide is an OEM part for Whirlpool refrigerators, designed to support and facilitate the smooth gliding of crisper or deli drawers. It attaches to the refrigerator's interior wall, providing a track for the drawers to slide in and out easily. This ensures that users can access their stored food items with convenience and minimal effort.

Causes of a bad Pan Slide can include physical damage from overloading the drawers, wear and tear from frequent use, or cracking due to temperature variations within the refrigerator.

Symptoms of a bad Pan Slide include:

  • Crisper or deli drawers sticking or difficult to move
  • Visible cracks or breaks in the pan slide
  • Drawers that sag or fall off the track when opened

This OEM Whirlpool part can also be used on Maytag, KitchenAid, Jenn-Air, Amana, Magic Chef, Admiral, Norge, Roper, and Kenmore/Sears brand appliances.

Christy, A metal pan slide isn't available, the plastic slides is better suited for the refrigerator environment than the metal (corrosion, debris and possible metal fatigue metal transfer). You may want to try making sure the slide is properly installed and secured to the shelf frame. Apply a thin coat of "Vaseline" or food grade grease to the slide or side edges of the crisper bin, to assist and ease the sliding motion of the drawer. Thanks,

Hello Mike, I believe you are correct since ever model variation I have looked up shows WP2223320 as the pan slide. If we could please ask you to, if further parts are needed, please submit the complete model number so we only have to look it up one time. There were 58 model variations with the partial model number provided. This would be greatly appreciated. The complete model number will be on the units' I.D. tag just above the serial number. Thank you so much for your patience and understanding in this matter.

Hello Kevin. If the auger motor is running, but the shaft is to short to turn the ice bucket, then here is the usual cause of that. This is an issue caused by the door liner being made of plastic. You see, the issue is caused by the plastic door liner changing shape by a small amount and this makes the shaft too short. Believe me, this steel shaft cannot strip. When the motor is setting effectively further away, this makes the shaft slip because it isn't meshing fully. I remove the two 1/4 inch hex headed screws and set the plastic "keeper" and spring aside. Pull the shaft up, out of the hole, (you can grab it with needle nosed pliers). Wrap electrical tape, sticky side out, around itself about 20 times or so and shove the wad of tape into the bottom end of the shaft. It may take a few trys to get the length right, but when you get it right, the shaft will mesh on both ends and it will dispense again. This is one of two ways to correct this issue. The other one is to replace the freezer door assembly.

Dan, This part is tricky to put in because that knob is supposed to be there to keep it from sliding out. You have to use force to get the tabs to go into the slots and then tap the part back to lock it in place.
