The Pan Slide is an OEM part for Whirlpool refrigerators, designed to support and facilitate the smooth gliding of crisper or deli drawers. It attaches to the refrigerator's interior wall, providing a track for the drawers to slide in and out easily. This ensures that users can access their stored food items with convenience and minimal effort.

Causes of a bad Pan Slide can include physical damage from overloading the drawers, wear and tear from frequent use, or cracking due to temperature variations within the refrigerator.

Symptoms of a bad Pan Slide include:

  • Crisper or deli drawers sticking or difficult to move
  • Visible cracks or breaks in the pan slide
  • Drawers that sag or fall off the track when opened

This OEM Whirlpool part can also be used on Maytag, KitchenAid, Jenn-Air, Amana, Magic Chef, Admiral, Norge, Roper, and Kenmore/Sears brand appliances.

Hello Pam. There are two locking tabs on the slides. You release the tabs and the slides will slide toward the front and out of the unit.

Make sure the freezer is between 0° and 5°. You need to check and see if there is power going to the water valve when the icemaker cycles. If so, replace the water valve on the unit. If not, or the icemaker does not cycle, you will need to replace the icemaker on the unit. Also, check and make sure the fill tube on the unit is not frozen and clogged. If so, replace the water valve and thaw out the fill tube. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html

Jerry for Model Number Whirlpool Refrigerator Model GS6SHAXMQ00

This seems to be a frequent problem. One of the Pan Slides for the Snack Drawer on my Whirlpool fridge broke. I ordered and just received the replacement Pan Slide part #A318471 (Whirlpool no. 2223320). It appears to be the correct part, but, as others have observed this part now contains 2 small, round protrusions approximately a quarter inch in diameter and sticking out about an eighth of an inch that prevent the slide from fitting flush against the bracket. These protrusions are at each end of the Plan Slide and they prevent the 3 L-shaped tabs from sliding into the slots on the support bracket. I note that you advised another questioner (Dave) to cut the protrusions off. What do you suggest we use to cut these plastic "dots" off a $12.95 part without breaking the part (or injuring ourselves)?

Jerry, You can try to remove the tabs using side cutters or something like that in order to get the slid on. This is the way the manufacturer is designing and you would have to find a way to clip then off.

Rita, The "lower" crispers (meat pan and vegetable bin) pan sldes are molded into the cover or frame, and will require the repalcement of that part. The upper "crisper drawer(snack tray) pan slides attach to the metal frame of the shelf, then the pan slides into the pan slide. Could you re check which pan or drawer we are dealing with, and an e mail address so we can duscuss this further, if needed.

Rita, Check the shelf frame there should be corresponding openings or tabs in it to secure the WP2223320 pan slide to the shelf, to keep it in alignment, then the shelf will slip into the tracks of the pan slides.
