Saca_Muela for Model Number Maytag model HAV2360AWW

I replaced my snubber ring thanks to your awesome video. I even bought the ring from you guys. When I replaced it I placed some corn starch in the area to help lubricate it. Put it all back together and now it's leaking. I am running its with the cabinet open and I can't see anywhere it's coming from. It doesn't look at all like its from the water pump or drain hose or water supply connections. I even tipped the whole machine back and it seemed like the area where the snubber ring is was dry too. It seems like it's leaking from the underside. Underneath the whole machine. Do you think the corn starch kept me from getting a good deal on the snubber ring and it's leaking from there? Is it possible there was some water that just needed to settle from putting everything back and now it's passed through everything will be ok? I've been have some loads go with the cabinet open looking for leaks and I don't see where it could be leaking from but after 2-3 loads I don't really see any leaking any more. Any idea what's happening. What happened? Where do you think the water came from and do you think it's done leaking? Should I pull out the drum and try to tighten the snubber ring some more? Thanks for any help.

Saca_Muela, The snubber ring cannot be tightened and would not cause the unit to leak. It is possible that there was some water under the unit from when you pulled the drum out and it just hadnt dried up. Would just continue to monitor if there is any leaking. If you have not seen any leaking then it is probably ok.

Rick, You will want to check the springs that go from the bottom of the tub to the base. If the springs are bad or weak it can cause the same issue that you are experiencing of the shaking. Also if the unit is on a wooden floor it will shake more readily then if it is on a solid surface.

Mark, This issue would most likely be caused by a tub bearing and seal that has gone bad. You will want to check the thrust bearing to make sure that the thrust bearing is not worn and causing the brake to drag but if the sound is a loud roaring type noise then the tub bearing would be the issue.

James, When the unit starts making a grinding type noise during the spin cycle it could be caused by either the spin bearing or a possible pump that is going bad.

Hello Trina. If just the snubber is bad and the unit is unbalanced, you will only need to replace the snubber.
