Mykey July 22, 2012 for Model Number AP4008524 (FSP 12001514) Is this the right part for a maytag stack w/d model # lsg7806aae & how do you install it? Or could you show me a drawing?
1 Answer Hello Mykey. Take the two screws out of the front panel to remove the front panel to access and replace the lid switch 12001514. Once removed, you will remove the access panel above the washer lid and access the screws securing the lid switch in place on the unit. Read More...
1 Answer Mykey, You're most likely working on a later version of a Maytag Stacked laundry system, (SG7804 or 7806) and the part number and diagram, indicates it is the washer lid switch. The switch assembly is mounted to the underside of the washer top panel, in the right rear corner, and there is one screw that mounts it to the upper side of the washer top. You'll need to remove power to the unit, slide the washer out from under the dryer, remove the front panel, Remove the two bolts(one in each front corner) remove the two rear top mount bolts in the openings in the corners of the top, and raise the washer top assembly sideways(right to left) Read More...
Mykey July 19, 2012 for Model Number AP4008524 (FSP 12001514) Can you show or tell me how to install it?
1 Answer Hello Mykey. The first thing to do is to remove the power. Remove the front panel. Then Look up under the front of the top and remove the 2 3/8" lt. and rt. corner bolts. Remove the front cover panel under the controls. This will allow the access to the switch assy. It may be easier to lift the lid assy. off the top. You just need to make sure that you do not loose the lid hinge balls as they will poop off and fly out. This makes it easier to remove the switch assy as the lid out of balance lever will not engage the switch mechanics. Just use a dab of grease on the ball when replacing the lid. Put the balls on the lid and work one corner at a time. Use a felt marker on the old switch body to mark where it goes. This will quickly help the realignment of the new one (a critical step). The switch assy is part # 12001514. Thank You. Read More...
Ned July 18, 2012 for Model Number LSG7804AAE I have removed the lid Switch because I need to replace it, but I also want to replace the fuse and I don't know where it is or what it looks like or how to replace it. Thanks.
1 Answer Hello Ned, You probably cannot find the fuse because it is internal to the lid switch. Replace the lid switch assembly 12001514 and you have replaced the fuse. Read More...

Kita December 30, 2011 for Model Number LSE9904ACL My washer fills with water and does nothing else. What could be the problem?
1 Answer Hello Kita. Test the lid switch 12001514 and see if it is bad. If so, it will cause the problem you are having. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Do I install it with the washer lid open or closed? Does the arm go under the rod counter balance or below it.Does the rod counter balance push the arm down or up.. Thanks again jay
1 Answer Hello Jay. You will need to open the lid to install the switch 12001514. You will position the rod so when the lid closes, it will press the switch and turn on the lid switch in the closed position. It should raise the arm up in the on position. Hope this helps. Read More...
