Lou Ann, The fan switch that you replaced will not work for your unit. The fan switch 04100193 has been discontinued by the manufacturer with no replacement available.

Randy, I believe CM200 is the model number to the cartridge installed on your appliance. What is the model number to the cooktop itself? Thanks.

Hello Gerry, The original switch is no longer available because the vendor who manufactured the switch for Maytag Corporation stopped making it and Maytag was unable to find another vendor who would make it for them. Maytags' solution was not highly publicized, but the original switch was replaced with basically an on/off switch WP74009256. The switch installation takes some wiring modifications, but it works well but without a variable speed switch. The instructions actually make it more complicated than it has to be. The simple way to wire the new switch is, after discontinuing the power supply to the unit, remove the old switch and the black wire that leads to the black on the terminal block, (power supply connection), goes on one side of the switch and the black wire that goes to the fan motor goes on the other side of the switch. The remaining wires can be cut and terminated. The manufacturer expects that the old wires be removed from the unit, but as long as they cannot touch any other wiring, they can remain.

Hi Don. Your wiring diagram is supplied w/ the unit under the base plenum. Use it along w/ our suggestions to make sure your wiring diagram is the same. The fan sw. gets its power from the terminal block colored brown that connects to the lt side elements or the grill. Check there for the lost 120 vac feed. Either a bad connection or burnt wire. Remove power and be safe. There are 2 terminal blocks(the other one black). Check at the unit terminal block for proper 240 at the outer 2 terminals and each outer to the center terminal(neutral) for proper 120 vac also. Maybe you lost the feed at one of these legs. Check the terminal block for tight clean connections. Check the breaker to see if it is Half /tripped. Let us know how we can help. Thank You.

CP, There should be two(2) terminals on the new switch, and wiring is not polarity sensitive, so location of the wires is pretty basic. Either terminal should have a single black wire(L1) from the infinite switches/ power cord(thicker black wire). The other terminal will have three(3) wires attached to it, the two blue wires, that are routed to the receptacle in the cooking bays, and the thinner black wire that is routed down to the vent motor harness. Thanks and Good Luck
