Henry December 30, 2016 for Model Number CVEX4370B I have a Jenn Air stove top with model # CVEX4370B and serial # 13978433AL. My fan switch is acting up recently. 1 Answer Hello Henry, You will need to order WP74009256 as per the manufacturers' parts list. Read More...
Lou Ann November 01, 2014 for Model Number Jenn-Air CVEX4370B, Serial No. 14945618CJ My fan switch stopped working. I ordered Whirlpool part number 74009256. It still doesn't work and it looks nothing like the old part. There is a relay or something in addition to the switch. I cannot find it on any schematics. Can you help me get the correct part or tell me how this should be installed? It is as if it is not getting power unless the heater elements are on. Thank you for your help.
1 Answer Lou Ann, The fan switch that you replaced will not work for your unit. The fan switch 04100193 has been discontinued by the manufacturer with no replacement available. Read More...
Randy November 29, 2013 I have a model CM200 Jenn Air range top. The down draft fan switch went out. Would this switch replace it and would I have to make any changes to make it work?
1 Answer Randy, I believe CM200 is the model number to the cartridge installed on your appliance. What is the model number to the cooktop itself? Thanks. Read More...

Gerry June 03, 2012 for Model Number 04100193 I am looking for a replacement fan control switch. Maytag told me the part number is 04100193. Will part #12002045 work and do you have any? Thanks for your help. Gerry
1 Answer Hello Gerry, The original switch is no longer available because the vendor who manufactured the switch for Maytag Corporation stopped making it and Maytag was unable to find another vendor who would make it for them. Maytags' solution was not highly publicized, but the original switch was replaced with basically an on/off switch WP74009256. The switch installation takes some wiring modifications, but it works well but without a variable speed switch. The instructions actually make it more complicated than it has to be. The simple way to wire the new switch is, after discontinuing the power supply to the unit, remove the old switch and the black wire that leads to the black on the terminal block, (power supply connection), goes on one side of the switch and the black wire that goes to the fan motor goes on the other side of the switch. The remaining wires can be cut and terminated. The manufacturer expects that the old wires be removed from the unit, but as long as they cannot touch any other wiring, they can remain. Read More...
Don January 28, 2012 for Model Number Cvex4370b The fan and burner lights stopped working. I pulled the switch and test the resistance. It was infinite in all positions. I powered the fan motor independently and the motor works fine. I ordered and replaced the old fan switch. It still doesn't work. What else could be the issue. I noticed the old switch says it is 120V. There is no AC power to the switch. Is there a fuse link in this controls?
1 Answer Hi Don. Your wiring diagram is supplied w/ the unit under the base plenum. Use it along w/ our suggestions to make sure your wiring diagram is the same. The fan sw. gets its power from the terminal block colored brown that connects to the lt side elements or the grill. Check there for the lost 120 vac feed. Either a bad connection or burnt wire. Remove power and be safe. There are 2 terminal blocks(the other one black). Check at the unit terminal block for proper 240 at the outer 2 terminals and each outer to the center terminal(neutral) for proper 120 vac also. Maybe you lost the feed at one of these legs. Check the terminal block for tight clean connections. Check the breaker to see if it is Half /tripped. Let us know how we can help. Thank You. Read More...
Cp January 05, 2012 for Model Number CVEX 4270W Which wires hook up where on the switch? No schematic provided.....
1 Answer CP, There should be two(2) terminals on the new switch, and wiring is not polarity sensitive, so location of the wires is pretty basic. Either terminal should have a single black wire(L1) from the infinite switches/ power cord(thicker black wire). The other terminal will have three(3) wires attached to it, the two blue wires, that are routed to the receptacle in the cooking bays, and the thinner black wire that is routed down to the vent motor harness.
