Ch December 04, 2014 for Model Number RS600BXK1

I installed this surface unit switch and the knob adapter. However the knob still stands too high off the surface of the cook top, even with all but one shaft segments removed. Am I doing something wrong? Otherwise, is there a known best J-rig, like shimming the switch or drimmeling off the adapter shaft? Thanks

CH, The shaft segments are approximately 1/8 inch in height. You can remove the total segmented shaft if needed, but your description sounds like that may not work either. Shimming the switch and using a slightly longer screw, sounds like a good alternative, but can't determine what to use as a shim or length of screw. But you don't want the switch assembly to wobble or be loose once it's mounted.

Hello Sardis, There is no exact video on this switches wiring since it has a factory change involved. Instructions are as follows: The wire that was on P will go to the pilot terminal on the new switch. The wire that was on the L1 terminal will go to the P2 terminal on the new switch. The wire that was on the L2 terminal will go to the P1 terminal on the new switch. The wire that was on the H1 terminal will go on the terminal labeled 4 on the new switch. The wire that was on the H2 terminal will go to the terminal labeled 2 on the new switch.

I was recommend AP3109444 for my range RF385PXPN1. Reading the description it is a universal switch. That says to me that it is not right for the 5 amp(not big enough) and not right for the 10 amp(too big). I found AP3095444 as a 8.9-11 amp switch the burner is 10-11 amps. The switch that I am replace is KS812700-1 a 10-11 amp switch. Help

James, The correct part number for your ranges infinite switch is part number WP3149400. This is for the large burner. If you need the switch for the smaller burners then the part number is WP3148952.

Hello Arturo, You will have to use 8203534. No other switches will work in the application of the right rear dual burner assembly.

Apparently the original part GE WB23X0074 is no longer available. Can part WB21X5243 be used to make the 8 inch and indicator light functions work? It is for the right front element, which normally has 4 inch, 6 inch, 8 inch and girdle functions plus the indicator light? If it can be done can you send a schematic for the electrician to follow? Hello Stanley, This part is listed for the other elements on the unit. Since, if you look at the terminal on the element, there are multiple connections, (four), it cannot be used in the place of the original (designed for an element with two terminals). I do apologize for this but, if you were to try to make this work, it could cause an unsafe situation in your home.

I removed the knobs on my cooktop to wipe it down and while I was cleaning between the knob posts I heard a "pop". Now there is no longer power to my cooktop. I have checked all the GFI switches and checked all my breakers and still no power. Is it ruined or can it be repaired?

Karen, You will need to pull the unit and check for power from going to the switches. Also check the terminals on the switches to make sure that there are burnt wires.

On the large burner when I turn it on it gets red hot no matter if surface unit switch is on high or all the way down to low Sounds like the unit switch is defective and a good replacement for this switch would be P/N AP3109444 What do you think ? Thanks
