Hello Jeff, The correct infinite switch for the model number provided is WP3148953. We must apologize about our compatibility tool. It is still in work and if it doesn't recognize a part or model number it says not compatible. It should be disregarded in this case since we verified the part number as per the manufacturer. Thank you for your patience and understanding in this matter.

David, The most likely cause for the elements cycling too fast would be faulty infinite switches for the burners.

Marylou, The receptacle for this unit on the regular side is part number WB8X151. Unfortunately we would not be able to advise on the wiring of the unit as we do not have any wiring information. The unit does show that there are fuses in it but unsure what the fuses would be for. You will want to check the fuses to make sure that they are good but it may just be bad receptacle causing the issue.

Rick for Model Number GE model 164D3871

Last night I tried to boil a large pot of water for corn on the cob. I've done this a million times with this same pot and amount of water but last night the large burner took about 20 minutes to get the water lukewarm. The burner was on high and I could see through the glasstop that the burner was glowing bright orange. The outer ring turned on and a little quicker than I recall though. I moved the pot to a smaller burner and it finally boiled so that I could finish making dinner. What could the problem be? Surface unit switch? Bad burner? On another note, I was baking at 425 for almost 30 minutes and noticed that pork chops were barely past "done". They weren't even sizzling. This made supper quite unenjoyable if not for the great corn. lol.
