Lee, the infinite switch WP3149400 would be used for the right front element. Unfortunately, the manufacturer is not showing what type this switch would be nor what the difference would be.

Mike, It is recommended to use the OEM part when available. The following is for your model: Infinite Control Switch WP3148952 / WP3148952 for 6" elements (Right Front and Left Rear) which are rated at 5.4 to 7.8 amps and Range Surface Element Switch WP3149400 / WP3149400 for 8" elements (Left Front and Right Rear) which are rated at 8.9 - 11 amps

Robert, The infinite switch uses a bi-metallic strip. As current passes through the bimetal connection, it will heat up and deform, opening the contacts turning the power to the element on and off. This is based on the resistance of the element, therefore the 6-inch will be different from the eight-inch and they are not interchangeable.

Sounds like the switch will need to be replaced. If the light that is staying on all the time is the hot surface light then the burner would need to be replaced.

Rosie, You can test it to be sure. Gain access and you should find the letters P and L1 stamped on the back of the switch. Remove the two wires and test for continuity between the two terminals. If they have continuity with the switch off then the switch is bad. If there is no continuity between the two then the surface element for that burner would need to be replaced. These tests need to be done with the unit unplugged for safety.

Rodney, It would be recommended to check the power supply with this happening to all of the burners. If the wiring is good then this would likely be an issue with the infinite switches.
