Rick April 13, 2013 for Model Number WMH3205XVS2 Have a Model #WMH3205XVS2 Whirlpool Microwave oven/hood 2.0 cu. ft. and I have problems with what I think is a door interlock switch. Sometimes the light does not come on when I open the door and when that happens the microwave won't turn on when I close the door. It thinks the door is still open. I see 3 switches listed on the website, 8, 9, and 19. Is there one of those that is the problem most of the time ? Thanks
1 Answer Rick, The issue would be with the monitor switch, You will want to make sure that the switch latch and the switch are making proper contact. If they are then you will need switch kit 4392027. Read More...
Suzette November 14, 2012 for Model Number KBMC14OHSSO3 - KitchenAid Microwave/Convection Oven My built in KitchenAid Microwave/Convection Oven displays "door" when the START button is pushed. I'm guessing it's the door sensor but I don't know how to test it or which door sensor part is correct for my model. Also the light hasn't come on for a long time and I can't seem to unscrew it from the inside. How do I access the bulb and what bulb should I use? And lastly, there is no longer any door tension, which tension replacement part should I buy. Thanks so much - Suzette
1 Answer Hi. On your microwave there are 2- latch assy. One on the left side, holder part # W10727408 and the one on the Rt side, holder part # W10727408. They have also the separate switch part # W10211972 that they use. The primary interlock "door" switch has one red, two browns and one black wire on the switch. You will need to remove the top to change the switch. The halogen light pulls out as it has 2 pins inserted into female sockets. Light part # WPW10440740. Thank You. Read More...
Melissa October 30, 2012 my Whirlpool microwave is only 6-7 yrs old, is over the stove and black. something broke and now the microwave thinks the door is open. the interior light stays on and the microwave will not come on. What part do you think I need?
1 Answer Mellisa, there are several possibilities, first open the door and check for both door catch tabs being present on the inner door liner closest to the control panel. If the catch tabs are there and operates properly, the issue will be in the door switches and door switch actuators, which may require removel of the microwave in order to access the actuators and switches, depending on the model number. Ken May 28, 2012 for Model Number Kitchenaid kemc377 double oven Just replaced the microwave light bulb and it worked fine for a few days, then it would only come on for a short period of time after opening the door and then it stoped coming on at sll. I thought it must be the latch switch and I pushed the white plastic rocker back and pulled it forward again with no change except now the microwave thinks the door is still open even when latched. Any idea of what is wrong?
1 Answer Hi Ken. Remove the power and disconnect the door switch wires off the switch part # W10211972. Then connect them together (temporarily) to see if the circuit completes now and the cavity light goes out. The Red,Black connects to the common of the switch and the brown wire and the blue wires feed the light transformer and the control board. This is the side of the switch/cam assy. you will need. I am unable to decipher by the parts breakdown which switch is what side so I will give you both. The lt. side switch/cam assy. is part # W10727408. The rt. side is part # W10727408. What is the rest of the model # after KEMC377..........? We will need this to help get the correct part #'s to you. Thank You. Read More...
