Rscott July 05, 2018 for Model Number MMV4205DS1 Intermittent "Open/Close Door" error message, whenever the interior light does not come on when door is open, then you close door, put cook time in, hit start, "beep-beep - error message." Sometimes waiting with door open until light comes on (sometimes a few seconds, sometimes several minutes), then close door, set cook time, hit start, it works normally, until next time. This is getting to be an every day thing. Do I need to replace all 3 switches and the fuse? Is it more likely one of the 3 switches? If the fuse blows, it will never work until replaced, right? What are there 3 switches? I get top and bottom but what is the third one for?
1 Answer Thanks for the question, this has been a common problem with this design, yuou will need to replace the 3 switches, W10269458, W10269460, W10727360 The switches are in a specific position and need to be replaced in the same way. I've heard this is usually a problem with the door switches but may be a controller board. Please indicate your thoughts on this? Ts February 01, 2017 for Model Number WMH31017AS-2 My whirlpool microwave is only 2 yrs old. Sometimes when I open the door the light inside the microwave does not come on. If I shut the door and try to operate the microwave I get error message door. I can open and close the door a few times and the light will eventually come back on. Or I can let the microwave sit for 10 or 15 minutes with the door open and the light will come on eventually and everything will be fine until next time I use it and I have to go through the same thing. I am assuming a switch is sticking/failing but I don't know which switch I need to replace for the door error message.

I tried to troubleshoot the Door Switch and it looks like the bottom part is busted. What is the part number for this (when I looked at the whirlpool website, there are 2 types of door switch, W10211973 and W10211974).
