Steve June 15, 2014 for Model Number NTW5100TQ2 Machine fills up with water will not go through cycle. Is lid switch bad?
1 Answer Hello Steve, You will need to test the lid switch and see if it is bad and needs to be replaced on the unit. If it is bad, it can prevent the unit from running and spinning. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html Read More...

David M. June 02, 2014 for Model Number MTW5770TQ0 Hi, I have a minor question. I'm replacing the lid switch on my Maytag bMTW5770TQ0. I watched the video on the whirlpool washer and understand the process. The problem I have is my machine does not disassemble the same way as the Whirlpool. Can you help?
1 Answer Hello David. You control panel has two clips under the front corners. You will release those with a flat blade putty knife and flip the control panel back to access the switch like the video shows. Then it will work the same way on replacing the switch. Read More...
J Ray March 20, 2014 for Model Number Whirlpool WTW5900SWO I just replaced the the lid switch and when I select a wash cycle nothing happens, but if i turn it to rinse or spin it works. It just doesn't want to start from the beginning of any selected cycle.
1 Answer J Ray, The place to start is the water temperature switch WP8577786, and check the wiring harness routed between the temperature switch and the delay control timer W10860734, mounted on the back of the regular timer. If the printed circuit board inside the temperature swith has a failure, it can disrupt the timer sequence, as well as not allow the washer to fill and agitate in the wash cycle. Read More...

Barbara January 27, 2014 I change the lid switch and it will not spin at all just hums...I check out the pump and all the hoses. the pump moves freely can it be the clutch? can you tell me if this model number for a Inglis whirlpool ITW4300SQA for extra large load and heavy duty wash machine?
1 Answer Barbara, Yes the ITW4300SQ model number is an "Inglis" heavy duty extra large capacity washing machine produced by Whirlpool Corp. You are probably located in Canada, that's where the majority of this brand washer is located and sold. If the washer will not spin/drain and only hums, the likelihood of a faulty clutch is very low. If the washer will fill and agitate, it's most likely a fault in the timer W10199989 if the washer neither agitates or spin/drain, and only hums then it's more likely a motor 661600 issue. Hosvin January 01, 2014 for Model Number 11026442501 I am looking for the harness that plugs in to the this part, 8318084.
Richard December 21, 2013 for Model Number 110.28532701 I have Kenmore washer model 110.28532701. I thought that the lid switch 8318084 was malfunctioning, but when I attempted to replace it, I found that the plug that mates with the lid switch connector receptacle needed to be replaced (breaks out of wiring harness). Can anyone tell me where I can find that plug?
