Thomas, Depending on the thermistor, open the freezer or refrigerator door and remove any items from the shelf that are in front of the thermistor. It may be necessary to remove the shelf as well. Remove the hex-head screw from the thermistor cover. Pull the cover forward at the screw end, and unhook the tab from the slot at the other end of the thermistor cover. Disconnect the 2-wire connector and remove the thermistor. Reverse the procedure and check for proper temperatures in 12 to 24 hours. Thanks,

Brian, In the refrigerator compartment on the right side wall or the back wall will be a small cover the will have the thermistor under it. There will also be one around where the control housing for the damper is at the top. In the freezer would have one on the left side wall with a cover over it that is held in by a screw.

Hello Kelvin, this model has 2 thermistors for temperature sensing one in the freezer and one in the fresh food section, the part you are describing in the freezer attached to the evaporator coil is the defrost bi-metal thermostat part WP2306462.t

Hello, the thermistor is located on the rear wall of the refrigerator behind a cover that has three slots on it and one screw holding it on. Hope this helps!

We bought thermistor from you but can no locate where to put it in the freezer .it is not in the place shown your drawings. when the inside back panel is removed I find the the bi metal defrost switch but no thermistor or any plug looks like the new one we have wp2188820 is it possible it is behind the upper panel just below the ice maker ? if so tell me how to remove that panel the problem I am trying to fix is the freezer runs at - 22 deg f no matter where you set the thermostat much to cold ice cream is like a rock . please help me ant thanks in advance

George, The thermistor will be located on the wall or on the back panel of the freezer section and would be under a cover.

Larry at room temp the resistance for the thermistors would be 2.7K ohms and would be within specs for the part. Based on information found the resistance in ice water would be correct and the thermistors would be good.
