Pete July 02, 2013 for Model Number eed4400wq My dryer will not heat. I have checked voltage. I have also checked all fuses and heating element for continuity. Everything checks out o.k but still no heat. Could the timer be bad causing the dryer to run but not heat?
1 Answer Hello Pete. Yes, it could be. You need to be careful and start at the heater and test and see where your losing power at. As your dealing with live power, this can be dangerous so take caution when testing this. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html Read More...
Steve June 20, 2013 for Model Number EED4400Wq0 Brought an estate dryer about 2 years ago dryer stopped will not start or run. Replaced the start button and checked all the other parts I do hve voltage don't want to buy new parts if I don't need them. Please advise
1 Answer Steve, You will want to test the thermal fuse on the unit to ensure that it is good. A bad thermal fuse will cause the unit to not operate. Also check the door switch to ensure that the door switch has continuity. If no continuity with the door closed then the switch is bad. Also test to make sure that the motor is getting power. This would be checked with the start switch pushed and checking from blue on the motor to W/red. If there is power present then the motor is bad and would need to be replaced. Read More...

Wayne May 16, 2013 for Model Number estate gas dryer My Estate gas dryer will not start. I opened the back panel to see if there was a reset switch but could not find anything. There is no sound when I push the start button. Not sure what part to get not sure if it is the timer or something please if anyone could help thank you.
1 Answer Wayne, You will want to check your door switch and dryer thermal fuses for continuity. When you check the door switch, the door will need to be closed. If the door switch does not have continuity then the switch is bad and needs to be replaced. The thermal fuse should always have continuity. If not then it is bad and needs to be replaced. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Rich March 06, 2012 for Model Number EED4400WQO Heat stays on constanly even when door is opened and motor not spinning. As soon as I switch selector to a heat position element comes on no need to press start button. If I open door in middle of cycle drum stops but element stays on. Appreciate any help. Checked for grounded element seemed good. and ohmed switch out according to wiring diagram alsoseemed good.
1 Answer Hello Rich. You will need to check again, based on the information you provided, it sounds like the element 279838 is bad and will need to be replaced. It sounds like you have got a grounded element on this unit. Check for a coil touching any part of the metal. I think you will find that one coil is touching somewhere on the element. Hope this helps. Read More...

1 Answer Jason, Based on your post information, it does sound like you have a damaged contact inside the timer WPW10185970, and this would be a good place to start. There are other possible issues, a shorted heater element or wires, etc. but your pretty much on track. Thanks Read More...
