For Whirlpool Dryer Timer Control (Part Number: OEM18049620)

David for Model Number 110.69422801

My Kenmore Series 400 electric dryer runs but will not heat. I've already confimed that there is continuity in the thermal fuse and high limit thermostat in the heater box. There is continuity in the heating element. There is continuity in the operating thermistor and the thermal fuse in the blower box. I've already confrimed that I have 240V and 120 V across the power supply terminals...both without and under load. So now I'm focused on the timer. The timer is model W10185976E. I've removed one plug to reveal 3 terminals. I've removed a second plug to reveal 4 terminals. Which termals should I check to determine if the timer is the cause for lack of heating? Thanks!

Dan, With this issue, the most likely cause for the unit making a buzzing noise when trying to start would be a timer issue.

Scott, you'll need to check the venting to the home and to the dryer. Make sure it is not kinked or clogged. Hope this helps.

Hello Ken, This problem can be caused by the timer being mis-wired or a bad new part. The other thing that can cause this is a defective motor winding.
