Usmc79 September 06, 2012 for Model Number ceds563rq1 I have replaced the heating element, thermal fuse,2 themostat-fix and dryer will still not heat. What else could be the problem? Would it be the timer switch?
1 Answer Hello usmc79. You will need to test and see where you are loosing voltage at. It is either the timer or the motor that could be causing the issue. Unplug the wires at the heater and trace to where you are loosing the voltage. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html Read More...
Cmetzler5 February 20, 2012 for Model Number LEC9000PW1 I have two problems that came on suddenly. First the dryer blows only cold air, second, the dial does not move, when you turn it on it just keeps going and going and going (blowing cold air) never turns off, and the dial does not move. I checked my fuse box and no breaker was blown.
1 Answer Hello Cmetzler. After checking the wiring diagram, it's my opinion that as long as the terminal connections for the pigtail are tight and undamaged, and the receptacle is making proper continuity, the timer WP3979618 is in need of replacement. Bill January 06, 2012 for Model Number 3070618 When you turn the timer on it ticks but,, when you hit the start switch it doesn't come on. I took the back off and taped on the timer and tried it again and it came on for 3 to 7 sec. Then stopped again.
1 Answer Hello Bill. Check for a loose connection at the timer WP3979618. If there is none there, and you can tap the timer and it runs, replace the timer. If you can let the unit sit for a while and it will run, but shuts off after a few seconds, replace the motor. Hope this helps. Read More...
Paul December 15, 2011 for Model Number SEDS800MQ0 I have the same problem as Curt, the timer does not move and the dryer can onle be stopped if the door is opened. Is this a common problem? I imagine the door switch takes more beating than the timer assembly. I'd love to only replace the door switch. Thanks much in advance for your time.
1 Answer Hello Paul. You will need to test for power to the timer motor wires. If there is power there, and the motor does not run, you will need to replace the timer WP3979618. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. Hope this helps. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html Read More...
Christine H November 06, 2011 for Model Number WED5521SQ0 My dryer will not turn on at all in the cool down cycle. It will turn on but not stay on when in the timed cycle. If i hold the dial down, it will stay on in the timed cycle. Someone came over and said the timer needs to be replaced. Does this sound correct?
1 Answer Christine, The timer would not be the first palce to start. First, check and make sure the wires at the terminal block, on the back of the dryer are not loose(unplug the power cord first). Check the push to start switch and relay, and the wires at the switch. Then check the timer circuit T(tan) to W(white) for closed in any cycle, and the wires for loose or damage. Good Luck and Thanks Read More...
