Bill for Model Number DU920PWKQO

Our dishwasher skips the pots and pan cycle, heavy cycle runs on the normal cycle and then sticks on the rinse cycle. It seems to start on each cycle but doesn't cycle enough water to get the soap packets to open before skipping to the next cycle. I have taken the it a part and cleaned the screen assembly removing a lot of lint. Besides your suggestion of what may wrong could you also give me an idea of the age of the machine. WE know it is at least 10 years old. Thanks, Bill

Bill, With the unit sticking in cycles and not releasing the detergent then this will most likely be a timer issue. The timer part number is WP8535371. In order to be able to determine the age of the unit we would need to have the serial number of the unit.

Hello Howard, You should check the power connection inside the galvanized box behind the kick panel. Many times, if the installer didn't get the wire nuts tight, a wire nut will melt and the unit will lose power to the control. This is also a starting point to troubleshoot for the voltage through the door switches and to the control. If voltage is getting to the control, you will need to check for a possible dropped neutral line. If the unit has a black sound dampening material inside the door and the wiring harness is sticking to this material, the door liner and the wiring harness will both require replacement. If voltage and neutral are getting to the control and no voltage is coming out of the control, the control has failed.

Hello Todd. It sounds like the water valve W10844024 is bad and will need to be replaced. If the valve is coming on, the water flow should be good and strong. Check and make sure the float is not stuck. If it is moving freely, you will need to replace the water valve. Hope this helps.
