Karl August 25, 2018 On the Maytag Model LAT7304AAE. It seems the timer switch is sometimes sticking and will stay on one of the cycles (might rinse cycle for ever). If you nudge the knob forward you can advance it to the next cycle and sometimes it will finish to the end. Seems like now less likely to continue through all cycles. I can hear a clicking noise when it is stuck. Guessing that a racheting mechanism in the timer unit is wore down. If it is thia unit mechansim is it dificult to replace the unit making sure the knobs can be taken off the shaft and put back on again to new unit correctly? Thanks - Karl K.
1 Answer Karl, you will need to replace the timer, part number is WP22001255. If you will look at the parts diagram, it will show how to access the timer knob parts, it is not a difficult repair. Read More...
Marian March 25, 2017 for Model Number LAT9304AAE The issue initially started a week ago. The washer would fill, but I would have to pull the switch out and hold it for several seconds before it would stay in the on position and agitate. Now, the washer will fill and the lid makes a "click" sound each time it is open. However, it will not agitate. If I leave it in the cycle, eventually it does drain and spin.
1 Answer Marian, There are a couple of things to check and do. Remove power to the washer, remove the two inner screws from the top of the control panel and lower the control panel assembly. Check the fuse WP22001555 mounted on the lid switch assembly WP22001682 if the fuse is blown, the washer will not fill and agitate, but it will spin and drain. If the fuse is blown, check the check switch(the smaller switch) to make sure it clicks when the lid is raised if it works properly replace the fuse, if it doesn't replace the switch assembly. Then, Pull out on the timer knob so it stays extracted, remove the center of the knob and remove the retainer clip be careful and don't let the knob fly off the shaft and loose the spring and slowly remove the knob and dial. Place a small dab of "Vaseline" or a couple of drops of house hold "3 in 1 oil" on the metal timer shaft and the white plastic housing closest to the metal casing. Push in on the knob, and repeat the process on the shaft and plastic on the back side of the timer shaft. Reinstall the knob, dial and spring, etc. and push and pull on the knob several times. remount and secure the control panel, plug the power cord back into the outlet and test the washer for operation. Lory October 28, 2013 for Model Number LAT9304AAE My washer will fill with water, and then thats it. It wont start to agitate end wash. If we hold the knob or jockey the knob back and forth for a few minutes sometimes it will start and go for awhile but then when it is done agitating it wont advance to the draining part unless we hit the knob or hold the knob or adjust it again by just getting lucky and turning it back and forth. Is it the timer that is bad?
1 Answer Hello Lory, This can be the timer WP22001255, a poor electrical connection, or the lid switch assembly WP22001682. Read More...

1 Answer Mark, some basic checks: make sure the debris screens in the fill valve and hoses are clean and the faucets are open, Listen for the lid switch to "click" when you raise and lower the lid several times. make sure the washer is level in both directions. When or where on the dial does the washer stop ? Is there any noises before this occurrs. The better information we have, the more precise we can be for you. Thanks. Read More...
