Kc October 08, 2015 for Model Number LAT1916AAE The washer will fill and start to wash. Cycle will stop early. Timer continues to run. Sometimes it will start to spin on its own, other times you will need to push in/pull out the knob for the rinse cycle to continue. Once the rinse cycle starts sometimes it will continue and complete the cycle as normal. Other times, it will start and stop and the timer continues to run, but clicks loudly. As it continues onto the spin cycle, washer fills as normal. Sometimes it will not spin, others it will complete as normal. Sometimes the time will run all the way through the cycle and never start to spin.
1 Answer Hello KC. Based on the information you provided, it sounds like the timer is bad and will need to be replaced. Your serial number will determine which timer you need for your model. Read More...
H.H. December 22, 2013 for Model Number lat8016aae Install new timer washer works but doesn't stop where it's surprise too what procedure do l need to take to get to stop in off. Position
1 Answer Hello, In studying the wiring diagram it appears that the timer has to have welded contacts. If the first two numbers in the serial number, (series number), are 14 or lower, you will need to order timer number 22001686. If the first two numbers in the serial number are 15 or higher, you will need timer number WP22002181. Read More...
H Harris December 02, 2013 for Model Number LAT8016AAE Washer runs, but wont spin water out in rinse cycle, but will spin on other side. Could the timer be going bad ??
1 Answer H Harris, Yes, the timer WP22002181 could be and probably is the issue, based on the supplied information and description. The timer replacement would be the place to start first. Read More...
Midnight Rider November 25, 2013 for Model Number LAT8016AAE "EASY CARE/PERM PRESS cycle" Tub fills ok. Timer ticking, knob advances but NO agitation (primary motor not running). Timer knob moving toward "cool down". At cool down, tub spins & empties water. "pre-rinse" works, water added while tub in spin mode. Spin stops. Timer at "Rinse" position & tub fills with water. Agitator DID work. Agitation stopped, began spin cycle & emptied water. Washer stopped once timer reached OFF. "REGULAR CYCLE" works same as perm press except NO agitation at all.
1 Answer Hello Midnight rider. If there is no power from the timer during that one cycle, you will need to replace the timer on the unit. 22001686 is the 10 to 14 series timer and WP22002181 is the 15 series and above. The first 2 numbers of the serial number determine the series. Read More...
Antonia September 20, 2013 for Model Number lat1916aae My washer don't turn on but the water gets full.
1 Answer Hello Antonia. You need to check and see if the lid switch assembly is bad and will need to be replaced on the unit. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html Read More...
Cool It 1022 October 02, 2012 for Model Number lat8006aae Have a Maytag washer, top load, does half a wash cycle and stops, timer runs down and turns off. will not spin or pump water out, motor or pump runs after half a wash cycle. Any thoughts on what? I'm thinking timer? Thanks
1 Answer Hello, I would first check the water valve WP22001274 for series 10 or lower, (series number is the first two numbers of the serial number), WP22002360 (for series 20 and above). If the cold water valve is bad, the unit could be filling from the hot valve on the wash and since the cold valve is the only valve energized for the rinse cycle, it could be the issue. Next, I would test the water temperature switch 22001655 and then the timer. Read More...
Frank L. March 06, 2012 for Model Number LAT8006AAE I just purchased a new Water Inlet Valve. Replaced it, but still no water. I am thinking now that it is the Timer. Could you advise me how to check out the Timer before I order one. Also, will I be able to return the recently pruchased Water Valve for credit? My order number is: 2438347...Thank You. F. L. White
1 Answer Hello Frank. If the unit is not filling with water, and the valve is new, then usually the pressure switch WP22001775 is the problem, and not the timer. See if the timer is sending power to the pressure switch. If there is power to the pressure switch, and the switch does not send power to the valve, you will need to replace the switch on the unit. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. Hope this helps. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html Read More...
