This washer timer controls and advances the cycle, sending power to the valve, motor, and pump at the right times. Replace it if the cycle stalls, won't start, or never completes.

  • Advances the wash program through fill, agitate, drain, and spin by closing/opening internal contacts
  • Directs power to key components at set intervals to keep the cycle moving
  • Failure symptoms include a cycle that won't advance, stops mid-cycle, runs indefinitely, or only clicks/hums
  • Also prevent the washer from starting a selected cycle
What's included: 1 timer assembly Install notes:
  • Unplug the washer before servicing
  • Remove the control knob/dial and access the control console to reach the timer
  • Transfer wires from the old timer to the new one one-by-one to matching terminals
  • Secure the timer, reassemble the console, reinstall the knob/dial, and test

Jerry for Model Number MAV6257AWW

Model # MAV6257AWW. The washer start of ok but will not drain. You have to turn the dail to another rinse or still cycle to get it to work. Now the whole thing stopped and it smells like something electrical is burning. the dail make a clicking noise. I open the dail pannel and checked the wires if anything fell off and I can smell the burning smell when I put it back together the machine started working again but it smell like the elec part is burning.

Hello Eddy. You will need to check the thrust bearing 12002213 and see if it is properly releasing the brake assembly. You can turn the pulley by hand to test this. If it is not, you will need to replace the thrust bearing kit. Hope this helps.

Hello Jack! Make sure that the lid aligned properly and the lid plunger WP22002754 is activating the strike. If it is ok you may have an issue with the timer WP22003371. Hope this helps.
