For Whirlpool Timer (Washer) (Part Number: OEM18019092)

Mason for Model Number MAV6257AWW

When the washing machine agitation, rinse, and spin cycle switch to the drain cycle towards the end of each cycle, the water pump does not engage and draining does not occur until the lid is opened and closed. The washing machine will spin slowly until the lid is lifted and closed. After opening and closing, then the drainage will occur, the pump will engage, and the spin of the tub will accelerate. I've swapped the lid switch and the timer with new replacements. Neither seems to be the culprit. So it seems when the lid switch triggers drainage and tub spin it works as expected, but when the timer triggers drainage and tub spin - it doesn't. Any thoughts on the actual problem that is occurring?

Mason, With this issue it sounds like the motor would be the most likely culprit with the lid switch and the timer having been replaced.

Susan for Model Number MAV7200AWW

My atlantis washer started skipping the spin cycle sometimes a few months back and wouldn't drain. It only happened rarely at first and only on the regular cycle. Now it doesn't work on any cycle. So far the following have been thoroughly checked and ruled out: the lid switch, the motor, everything connected to water actually leaving the tub - hoses, the impeller, etc; the belt, everything related to the tub itself. Everything else works all other cycles and settings. When it should be draining and spinning nothing happens but a clicking sound. I'm running out of options.... please help.

Hello Susan. If it started doing it on different cycles, then it sounds like the timer is bad and will need to be replaced on the unit.

Dav, Yes, based on the post description and information, you'll want to replace the timer WP22003371 / 22003371. The internal cam wheel is cracked or damaged and causes the timer to deactivate in the rinse cycle. Replace the timer and you should be fine.

Hello Sal, You should first check you drain pump. Ensure that the pump is not jamming and also that there is nothing clogged in the pump. You can check to see if the pump will spin freely by tilting unit back and take the belt off. Once belt is off turn the pump WP35-6780 and see if it moves freely or is binding.

Mike, you're pretty close to a proper diagnosis, if your issues are related, the problem would be, and probably is, in a faulty timer WP22003371. Thanks and Good Luck
