Doug, Based on your post description, You most likely have an issue in the timer WP27001156, a cam or one of the two "spin" contacts inside the timer has failed, When you manually advance the timer, you're forcing the contacts to operate, or you're "forcing" the cam past the bad spot. Thanks

Joe, Check the lid hinges and lid switch assembly, if something is loose, that could be an issue. If the motor runs in the spin cycle, but the tub does not spin, the first thing to check is the brake pads and drive pulley cam WP40047402 washers 40065701 40063201 and belt WP27001007 and idler assembly for proper tension. Hello Sue. You will need to remove the toe panel of the washer and the front panel. Then run the washer and look for leaks. Check and see if the pump 27001233 is leaking. If so, you will need to replace the pump assembly. Hope this helps.
