Tom K. June 30, 2011 for Model Number pyet244ayw When you try to dry clothes, set the timer, push the knob, the motor does not run. However the heating elements are coming on. Timer on this dryer was replaced about a year ago. Motor does not appeared burnt - overload on motor is not open - What would cause the heating elements to come on but not the motor?
1 Answer Hello Tom. You will need to check and see if there is power going to the motor. If so, and the motor does not run, you will need to replace the motor W10410996. If there is no power there, then the timer may be the issue. Also test and make sure your not loosing neutral somewhere inside the dryer. You will do this by testing for continuity through the neutral wires. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. Hope this helps.http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html Read More...
Al L. June 21, 2011 for Model Number MDG6400AWW Hi My dryer works but the timer does not advance dryer stays on when it is put on dry sensor what part do I need please help?
1 Answer Hello Al. You will want to make sure all your vent tubing in the dryer to the outside of the house is clean from any obstructions. If so, you might have a defective cycling thermostat WP307250. You should read a closed circuit from the pink connector to the gray connector at room temperature. Hope this helps! Read More...
Kevin L. June 05, 2011 for Model Number pye2300ayw My timer switch had burning smell. It wants to go, but when I pull knob it does nothing. Tried with pliers also, wont start.
1 Answer Hello Kevin. First test the thermal fuses LA-1053. They are located on the top and side of the heater housing. They should read closed for continuity. If they are good, and the door switch LA-1005 is good, you will need to replace the timer WP53-1810. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. Hope this helps. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html Read More...

Wanda T May 01, 2011 for Model Number PYE2300AYW My dryer wont do anything, I know that my breaker is ok. Do you think that it could be the timer control? When you turn the knob you can no longer hear the timer clicking. I am a single mom with not much $ and I would really like to repair this myself.
1 Answer Hello Wanda. You will need to test the thermal fuse LA-1053 on the side of the heater housing. It should read closed for continuity. If it is open, it can cause the problem your having. Also, if it is bad, check the vent and make sure it is not clogged or kinked. You can test this with a multi-meter MA-DM1. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. Hope this helps. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html Read More...

Jamiem April 09, 2011 for Model Number cde6000w Ok dryer got to hot and blew fuse, so I took it all apart cleaned it very well replace all the thermostats and new belt new felt and new guides. I turned it on and worked great for about and hour turned it on again and it blew again. There was no lint at all in it checked the heat element and it looked good i was told that if the timer was bad it could cause it to keep heating the element too much. I'm stuck I already put 80 into it it is about 10 yrs old.
1 Answer Hi Jamiem. Check for a shorted heating element LA-1044, make sure the wiring on the element is not snapped. Also you might want to install this kit LA-1053. The timer only tells the unit when to come on and off. Thanks! Read More...
Mother Of 3 Boys March 08, 2011 The first time out of storage our Admiral dryer LNC7764A71 was plugged into an outlet that was wired backwards. It made an awful sound, I thought it was the timer buzzing non-stop. After correcting the outlet, the timer didn't stop the load. It will go on with full heat all day, if I dont stop it, it's dangerous and it keeps shrinking everyones clothes. Will part #AP4056595 fix my problem?
2 Answers Hello! If the timer is not advancing over and ending the cycle you will need to replace it. Part number is WP53-1810. Thanks! Read More...
