Al F for Model Number MVWC6ESWW0nm

When the washer is turned on, The ajitator starts immediately and after a couple of minutes the inlet water starts. (it used to start the input water first to be followed by the ajitatation. At the end of the spin cycle, incoming water starts for a short time, enough to get the washed cloths soaked wet. I then need to manually turn it back to spin, and then shot it off after the when no water discharge is noticed. My gut tells me that I need a new timer. Please advise

Al, Your "gut" feeling was close, You'll need to check the wiring at the load sensing switch WPW10292584 and the delay timer on the back of the mechanical timer WPW10104800. Both these components control the water fill process, and the timer advancement. If there are no loose connections or damaged wiring, replace the sensor switch.

Al, If you are hearing a humming noise when it is supposed to be agitating then the timer is bad and would need to be replaced. You would want to replace the piggyback at the same time.

Tommy, The place to start is the Temperature switch WPW10248240 check the wiring and connections at the switch, disconnect the air tube, and blow in the end of the hose, this will clear any debris in the tube, check and make sure the tube is not kinked or twisted. If alls OK, replace the switch

Linda, The timer is the last resort, you need to check or replace a couple of other things first. Check the air dome hose WP353244 make sure it's not twisted, kinked or clogged with debris. If you disconnect the hose from the sensor switch and blow in the end, you can usually tell, and if theres any debris, you clear it. Next check the wiring at the sensor switch WPW10292584 and electronic control WPW10104800 then replace the sensor switch, if alls OK.

Hello Brian. Based on the information you provided, and the model of the unit, the sensor switch WPW10292584 is the issue. There is a wiring diagram in the control panel you can use to bypass the switch and see that the unit fills with water. However, if you order the switch and it does not fix the issue, you can return the part.
