Terry July 19, 2018 for Model Number NTW5100TQ2 I have an Amana washer having issues with lint. Does this washer have a lint filter and if so where would it be?
1 Answer Hello Terry, This unit does not have a lint screen. To help you with your issue we would like to advise you on the formation of lint. You see, lint is simply fragments of fabric that have worn from the material that is being washed in the machine. To lessen the amount of lint produced in the machine, you should do two things. First, limit the time the clothing is being washed as per the soil level. For example, clothing soiled with perspiration only should be washed on a light load setting. This will wash the material for a shorter time, preventing the fabric from being worn excessively. The second thing to be careful of is the amount of detergent that is used. The chemical reaction generated by the wash temperature is geared toward attacking soil particles. If the amount of detergent is excessive, there is not enough soil particles to properly occupy the chemical reaction. The chemical reaction that hasn't got soil particles to attack will attack the fabric producing lint. Read More...
Joan March 04, 2018 for Model Number LSB6300LW0 My clothes are linty. I watched the video about how to replace the filter plugs. I removed the assembly but there are not 4 holes in the bottom of the washer. There are 4 small half-circle indented openings. Not sure where I would put these plugs.
1 Answer Joan, This unit would not have filter plugs for them. If you are having heavy lint then this is normally caused by using too much detergent which causes the lint to be suspended and get on the clothes. Read More...
Greg January 29, 2018 for Model Number 110.20942991 I purchased a spin basket. The original part number was subbed to W10389328. ok, fine. I also ordered the lint filter that goes on the bottom of the spin basket, but it too subbed to 285868 (four discs instead of one large disk). Problem is, the four holes in the bottom of the new spin basket are much smaller than the four discs and there is no way they will go in there. So what gives?
Customer October 05, 2017 for Model Number 11027522600 I watched your video. Followed your instructions. Ordered filter plugs. They are loose and do not “snap” into place. do not fit in washer floated to the top. I don’t see any filter any where Clothes are coming out full of lint. Andrew October 09, 2016 for Model Number LSR8233JQ0 I found the Plug Kit 285868 to replace the old lint filter and ran into a problem when I went to installed the new plugs. The holes in my tub are bigger than the plugs themselves. They do not snap into place, they just rest on top of the holes. I double and triple checked the parts numbers and cross references and this is the correct part for my washer. Any ideas or suggestions? Thanks, Andrew
1 Answer Andrew, Based on the model number this would be the correct filter plug for the unit. and will go under the spin basket. These filter plugs would not be a necessary part and you can just leave them out. Read More...

Amya December 13, 2015 for Model Number Whirlpool top load LXR5432KQ0 Hello. I hope you can help me. I received the filter plug kit I ordered from you. But after removing the agitator there are just 4 small holes at base (kind of angered small holes) that these clips don't fit in any way I can figure out, doesn't look like your videos I have watched. There are also holes in the vertical portion of shaft below where that spanner nut is. Are these plugs not right for my model? I thought it came up when I searched and called about my specific model. I'm worried about excess lint and keeping clean. I've cleaned the inside of agitator completely, can I re-install without the filter plugs? Or like some other questions I see you told them they will need to remove spanner nut and basket (yikes for my abilities) to get to filters. Is this something I need to do? Order spanner nut wrench? Does this mean I need (like one video I saw where you impressively u clipped back, unhooked and unscrewed many things and released springs, etc) to take apart whole machine to get under basket to install the filter plugs? Whew. Thank you for your assistance! Great videos - I'm just at a loss what to do now. And need to be able to do laundry again (thought this was going to be quick fix). First mistake right? :-)
1 Answer Amy, If you cannot get the washer filter plug kit 285868 into place you do not need to put them in. These were eliminated and are not a required part. Read More...
