However, your answer doesn't say anything about removing the tub. Please clarify if tub needs to be removed and how easy it is to remove the tub (question mark). I'm getting anxious to fix the lint problem and avoid buying a new unit only because of lint problems. Otherwise your video was helpful. Thank you
1 Answer Hello Stephen, You can remove the tub by pulling the softener cup, (if equipped. If not, remove the agitator cap), and remove the bolt under the moisture cover. You then pull the agitator out and remove the spanner nut. When it is removed, you can then pull the spin basket. Be sure to keep up with the agitator clip and washer for re-installation during re-assembly. This is not really necessary since you can eliminate the lint production by adjusting your usage habits. This is simply done by decreasing the amount of detergent used and decreasing the wash time for each load. Shane January 26, 2014 for Model Number TAWB600EQ1 When I remove the agitator, I see the 4 holes (same size) with nothing in them. Directly under the holes (all of them) is large piece of plastic with grooves in it. It is pressed right up against the bottom of the tub, which makes me think I would really have a hard time getting these plugs in the holes. Is this plastic plate with the grooves the old-style filter that I need to throw away? When I look at the online parts list, there is something called the Plate - Filter (part # 3361948), and it looks like from the diagram that it is BENEATH the tub. I live in a rental - I think removing the tub is a project that is beyond me - and I don't want to order the plugs if that's not going to help with my lint problem (or I'm not going to be able to fit them in because of the grooved plate). Any advice would be much appreciated!
