Mordecai September 16, 2015 for Model Number 11023812100 The problem I am having is that it doesn't spin unless I open the lid and close the lid, then it spins fine. I replaced the clutch assembly thinking this would resolve the problem but it didn't. When I replaced the clutch assembly the old clutch assembly was full of grease. Does this indicate another failing part or is this what a 13 year old clutch assembly should look like? Thanks
Dale September 08, 2015 Whirlpool top load stuck in cycle, replaced timer. Now the machine fills with water but does not agitate. Drained the water, put it on a different cycle to see if it would do anything, it spins, even when the lid is opened. Wondering why it's not agitating, with lid opened or closed. Replace the lid switch?

Steve July 07, 2015 for Model Number 110.22422100 Hi. A friend contacted me about a problem with their washer. It's a Kenmore, front-loader. When I asked them to describe the problem they had, I received this response: The lid on this Kenmore model has to be closed in order for the washer to switch to the spin cycle. The problem is the lid swtich which I had to put a lot of pressure on and then the rinse and spin cycle came on....drained the soapy water and filled it with clean water to begin the rinse cycle. I tried to tighten the two screws that hold it and found out that they were loose to begin with and the plastic piece from underneath had fallen into the washer which I found later on after I emptied the washer. I don't hear the lid switch click as I raise & lower the lid, therefore, I totally think it is the lid switch that is causing the problem. Could you please help me identify how to determine if the lid switch is in fact the problem? TYIA.

Danny November 09, 2014 for Model Number 110.22832100 Machine will fill up with water, wash but will not pump water out of machine. Replaced water pump still will not pump out the water. What do I do next?
1 Answer Hello Danny, You should remove the hose from the outer tub and check for debris/article of clothing that could be obstructing the tub opening. If nothing is located there you may have to pull the inner tub to make sure nothing is in there. You should also check the drain line from the pump out to the standpipe. Read More...
Teresa August 30, 2014 for Model Number MTW5840TW0 The washer was agitating(washing ) and I opened the lid to add 2 pillow cases. I closed the lid and it did not start up again. I have put it on all of the different types of 'washes' and none of them work. I have un-plugged it and re-plugged it-it doesn't work. I have checked the breakers and they are fine. Does this unit have a fuse ?

Teddy B August 20, 2014 for Model Number Kenmore Washer Model 11027822790 While we recognize our washer is old, I can't figure why it is not getting the clothes clean anymore, I thought it was because the agitator dogs was bad, as the top agitator was not turning, so I replaced them, it is turning now, but the machine is still not getting the clothes clean as it did before. The upper and lower agitator appears to be working. I can only assume the agitator is still not trashing the clothes around enough. I cannot figure out what the problem is. The are no leaks, excessive noises, rumbling, etc. Any Ideas, thoughts, suggestions? Thanks
1 Answer Hello Teddy. Check the water valve and make sure your getting both hot and cold water for the unit. If everything is working properly, then it may be the type of detergent your using for the clothing. Read More...
