Steve for Model Number 110.22422100 Hi. A friend contacted me about a problem with their washer. It's a Kenmore, front-loader. When I asked them to describe the problem they had, I received this response: The lid on this Kenmore model has to be closed in order for the washer to switch to the spin cycle. The problem is the lid swtich which I had to put a lot of pressure on and then the rinse and spin cycle came on....drained the soapy water and filled it with clean water to begin the rinse cycle. I tried to tighten the two screws that hold it and found out that they were loose to begin with and the plastic piece from underneath had fallen into the washer which I found later on after I emptied the washer. I don't hear the lid switch click as I raise & lower the lid, therefore, I totally think it is the lid switch that is causing the problem. Could you please help me identify how to determine if the lid switch is in fact the problem? TYIA.
