Jim October 21, 2011 for Model Number 110.29962891 Kenmore My washing machine does not spin after the wash cycle. I can activate the spin cycle by placing a screwdriver into Lid Switch and the spin cycle is activated. Is this a problem with the Lid Switch or the actuator on the Lid itself?
1 Answer Jim, You need to check a couple of things, Check the lid switch actuator 350733 make sure its not loose, broken or missing. Check and make sure the screw that holds the lid switch to the top (on the side of the opening) is not loose or missing. Thanks and Good Luck Read More...

Phil October 11, 2011 for Model Number 11020842990 Does this switch install with the 2 phillipcrews into this unit? Doesn't look like anywhere to screw the switch to the washer lid. I have a broken piece under the lid.
1 Answer Hello Phil. Yes, the lid switch WP3949238 installs under the top panel on the right side of the opening. Disconnect the power to the unit. Remove the two screws in the back corners of the control panel securing the control panel. Pull the control panel forward and flip it backwards. Next unplug the lid switch and remove the two brass colored clips securing the cabinet to the back wall using a flat blade screwdriver to pry them out. Pull on the front of the cabinet and slide the cabinet off the frame of the washer. You can now access and replace the lid switch. Reinstall in reverse order. Hope this helps. Read More...
Norman October 11, 2011 for Model Number whirlpool super capacity plus i have the whirlpool super capacity plus and purchased this lid switch assembly, AP3100001 (3949238). upon installing i noticed 2 differences in the new assy vs the older failed assy. the first, it was ~3 inches shorter, the second, it had a curved metal piece over the switch lever. there are no additional serial or model numbers on the washer. do i have the correct part? i believe if i pry off the metal, it may just fit, but it would be "dangling" vs secured onto the frame with the metal clipings of the housing.
1 Answer Hello Norman. You have ordered the wrong lid switch. We will need your model number to help you with this. Thanks. http://www.appliancepartspros.com/modelnumber_locator.aspx Read More...
