A lower flexible drive shaft is located inside lawn trimmer attachments. It is mounted inside the lower boom housing. The function of the part is to drive the trimmer head. The drive shaft will deteriorate and become more round with use. The rounded ends will ultimately fail to engage the trimmer head. The lower flexible drive shaft may also break or kink. The trimmer head stops quickly when this occurs. The trimmer will no longer function properly, and a replacement part is required. When replacing the lower flexible drive shaft in a trimmer, wear protective gloves. Start by removing the trimmer head, reel, and line assembly. Use a screwdriver to remove the outer head. Remove the guard assembly. Remove the bushing housing assembly. Access the lower flexible drive shaft and remove the damaged part. Lubricate the new part and install it with the lower flexible drive shaft's ring closest to the trimmer head. Reassemble the trimmer. This replacement part is an OEM genuine part supplied by the manufacturer. The lower flexible drive shaft can be used in MTD, Cub Cadet, Troy-Bilt, and Craftsman brand lawn trimmers. The part is sold individually. The lower flexible drive shaft is made of durable materials.

The main drive shaft that the gearbox is attached to is called the drive shaft housing assembly. It connects the power source from the device to the top of the tool. The motor or engine's power runs through the drive mechanism to power the head to rotate while working. The metal piece is used to turn the gearbox in various types of lawn equipment, including blowers and trimmers from several different manufacturers. Signs that a replacement part is necessary may include poor performance or excessive vibration while in operation. Over time, the drive shaft will wear out from normal use or it can become damaged. The replacement of a drive shaft housing assembly is simple with the proper screwdriver and pliers. Replacement involves unscrewing the drive shaft housing from the throttle assembly. Remove the two screws holding the shaft in place. Screw in the new replacement part. The drive shaft housing assembly is supplied directly from the manufacturer and is a genuine OEM part. It is sold separately and individually. The replacement part can be used in MTD, Troy-Bilt, Bolens, and Yard Machines brand equipment. It is compatible with both blowers and trimmers. The piece is made from high-quality, durable materials.
