Joseph B Greenwell Springs , LA February 06, 2016 Appliance: Samsung Refrigerator RFG297AARS/XAA My samsung flapper in the assembly case where the ice drops from the ice maker would not work because of a broken spring Unfortunately a spring could not be found to just repair so a new assembly had to be purchased. I easily removed one screw from the front instrument panel then popped it off using a 4 inch putty knife. I then disconnected the wires after marking them and unscrewed the old assembly and removed. The rest was just installation of the new assembly by reversing the procedure above. Took less than 30 minutes. The part arrived as predicted and is a direct replacement. Online maintenance manual not 100% accurate.
