Poped off plastics caseing inside the frigerator. Unscrewed 4 screws holding black fan inplace. Followed yellow wire to locate white sensor. Need to be careful not to break styrofoam, don't force it, it should seporate from plastic easy as long as the 4 screws are out. Swap it for the new one and button it back up. I ordered the French door housing, the new piece has a solid raised curved part that enters the guide, and a new center hinge. I watched both repair videos shown on appliance parts Pro. It looked pretty simple, so I got my 2 screw drivers and unplugged the refrigerator and started. The hardest part was removing the upper and lower hinges. Replaced the inside back panel which comes with a new fan. Seems the old fan had stopped working due to ice which burned it out. The drain tube was blocked and ice built up on the bottom plate. Using a basting tube from Walmart and hot water I thawed out the ice in the tube. The basting tube became much like a toilet plunger and cleared the line rapidly. Nothing else worked as fast. I replaced all three sensors behind the Defroster cover since I was not able to test them. Problem solved. Read more

Replaced broken handle support bracket (part #AP5620448) and cap (part #AP5620751). Used a phillips head screwdriver and allen wrench. Pliers also came in very handy. If replacing cap and support bracket, be sure to install cap before support bracket, otherwise you'll have trouble installing the cap. I ended up not needing to replace the fixer handle (part #AP4372038), but I'll keep it around just in case. Read more

The ship was quick (although expensive) and about 20 minutes after arrival the new parts were installed and the wife is happy again. 1. remove the top caps covering the brackets. We had a hard time finding a tutorial that showed how to replace the part of the handle that broke. After several attempts to fix on our own we gave up. A few weeks later a friend came to our house and we were discussing the fix for the handle and She helped me to fix the handle just buy trying a new way to remove the old broken part. The blower motor that circulates air through the refrigerator was broken. I had to remove all the shelving and drawers from the refrigerator. Then I had to remove the plastic light cover from the center of the fridge. Then I removed all visible screws to uncover the evaporator/radiator. I then unplugged the light bulb and motor wires. Found one of the drain valves was clogged causing condensation to overflow on the floor behind the refrigerator. Order the parts on Monday morning and they arrived tuesday afternoon. Replace both of the valves in 15 minutes. Easy repair and save a bundle over a service call. Read more

Took a bit to diagnose. First tried cleaning coils but the problem still persisted. Next took of the back panel and put the system into diag mode. (Press energy save button and fridge button for eight seconds system ding once a second and inverter board red LED will blink a code or be on solid if no issue. I took all the items out of the refrigerator. Removed the screws that hold the cover over the evaporator motor. Than for three hours used a hair drier to remove ice. The panel was frozen on if you pull on it it will break. Soaked up all the water removed the panel and took the fan blade off. That was difficult because it looks like a regular screw head however, you need to push in that which will cause it to release the blades and than push it onto the new motor.
