I replaced the ice maker after replacing the ice try and before that the ice chute gasket. All easy fixes. Replaced the entire ice making unit. It was a very simple project. The original ice maker is held in place by two screws at the front and some tabs in the back. Removing the screws allowed the unit to come free from the tabs and drop down. We simply released the wiring clip, removed the broken unit and reversed the process.
