The Water Level Float is an OEM part for Whirlpool dishwashers. It helps regulate the water level within the dishwasher by rising with the water level and signaling the control board to shut off the water inlet valve when the appropriate level is reached.
Causes of a bad water level float can include wear and tear, mineral buildup or debris obstructing its movement, or damage due to mishandling. Over time, these issues can prevent the float from moving freely or accurately signaling the water level.
Symptoms of a bad water level float include:
- Dishwasher overfilling or underfilling
- Water leaks during the wash cycle
- The dishwasher not completing cycles correctly
- Error codes related to water level issues
This OEM part is also compatible with Maytag, KitchenAid, Jenn-Air, Amana, Magic Chef, Admiral, Norge, Roper, and Kenmore models.

Kitchenaid dishwasher would not complete wash cycle John M. • Lillian , AL • July 31, 2016
This was a difficult problem to diagnose. Because the machine would start the wash cycle then shut down after a few minutes of running, it appeared that the cause might be a bad thermostat or heating element, but all checked out ok. That led me to believe that the control panel may be the culprit but it also appeared to be working correctly when I ran the diagnostics program. A visual examination of the components found that the door switch electrical connections looked discolored, so I removed...

Dishwasher would not fill with water Robert N. • Susanville , CA • January 09, 2016
I took the inlet valve apart, found it was clogged with sediment, so I cleaned it and reinstalled it. Water was still not filing, so I figured the valve was sticking. I ordered a new valve, because $30 was a lot cheaper than a new dishwasher. I took out the old valve with two screws, and disconnected the supply line, the brass elbow, one hose, and a wiring harness. I reattached it in the same place, re-using the all the other parts, and once I turned the power and water back on, it worked as...

Odor in dishwasher stuck valve in vertical tube replace check valve Victor F. • Durham , NC • December 26, 2014
The odor in the dishwasher was due to scum buildup in the walls, the racks, and in the lower part of the drain below the lower rotating arm. One of the valves in the vertical tube was stuck in the open position; since the valves cannot be replaced, the entire tube needed replacement. The check valve probably needed no replacement, but once I opened the bottom part, I decided to replace it anyway. I used this Youtube video to replace the tube, open and clean the drainage part of the washer:

Dishwasher would not fill Eric D. • Indianapolis , IN • March 02, 2020
Replacing the inlet valve solved the problem. The old valve was somehow clogged with white sediment. I probably could have taken it off and cleaned it out if I'd known, but replacing the valve was much easier. Took about half an hour to repair. Video walk through was extremely helpful. Great to have a working dishwasher again!

Would not drain with flashing quick light Kevin N. • Lake Worth , FL • June 21, 2018
Since my Samsung Dishwasher would not drain and had a flashing quick light, I removed the racks and both spray wands. Which allowed me to remove the lower screen assembly. This revealed a worn and broken check valve and broken grinder blade.
I cleaned the inside of the dishwasher and removed the unit from under the counter. I removed and cleaned the brake assembly ( large transparent plastic section on left side of the dishwasher). I cleaned this for preventive maintenance by taking the float...

Dishwasher would run but there was no water in it R Wayne A. • Chattanooga , TN • December 28, 2015

No water going in to wash dishes. Steven F. • Dallas , GA • January 21, 2019
I've never repaired an appliance before, but wanted to try to at least diagnose the problem before calling a professional. I started with Google searches to explain why water wasn't going in. First checked the water supply and verified it was OK. The next most likely problem was the inlet valve.
I watched a bunch of YouTube videos on how to replace this part, decided I should be able to do it myself, and found that the part was under $30. To test my ability, I removed the existing part &...

By: Ge
Part Number: WD21X10060
Note: This is the complete solenoid assembly kit. For armature & linkage assembly only, use WD1X1316.
The Solenoid Assembly is an OEM part for GE dishwashers. It plays a crucial role in controlling the flow of water into the dishwasher by activating or deactivating the drain valve. This assembly is essential for ensuring that the dishwasher fills and drains at the correct times during the wash cycle, which is pivotal for the overall efficiency and effectiveness of the appliance.
Common causes for a Solenoid Assembly to fail include wear and tear over time, mineral buildup from hard water, or electrical failures that prevent the solenoid from operating as intended.
Symptoms of a bad Solenoid Assembly include:
- Failure of the dishwasher to drain properly, leading to water accumulation at the bottom.
- The dishwasher not filling with water as it should, affecting the cleaning process.
- Unusual noises coming from the dishwasher, which may indicate the solenoid is failing to engage or disengage correctly.

Part Number: WD21X23498
The Flood Switch is an OEM part for GE dishwashers. This critical component detects and prevents potential overflows by monitoring water levels within the dishwasher. When excessive water is detected, the flood switch signals the dishwasher to shut off water flow, preventing leaks and potential water damage.

Symptoms of a bad flood switch include:
- The dishwasher stopping mid-cycle
- Water not filling or overfilling the dishwasher
- Error codes related to water level issues
- Leaks around the dishwasher
This GE replacement part is also compatible with Hotpoint, RCA, and some Kenmore models.
