Walk into the kitchen on 21 Sep. Eight year old Frigidaire refrigerator appears to be short cycling, controls are nonfunctional. Unplug it for a few minutes, plug it back in, appears to return to normal function. Return to kitchen half hour 45 minutes later it's short cycling again. It was beeping constantly, like a smoke alarm. Like someone was pushing the buttons but the door was closed, and we had no known poltergeist activity for a few years. Bought new optic control boards, both the emitter and the receiver. The repair process was so simple. The KitchenAid repair tech came out to diagnose our issue. He was only going to come back and install a new emitter. They wanted a lot of money to do the repair. They were going to charge us $257 just for the part (emitter board). We bought both boards for $300 from AppliancePartsPros. We decided to replace both boards, because if one went bad the other might not be far behind. Read more

The refrigerator was given to me and hasn't defrosted since it was new. I found the defrost timer had a burnt spot on the circuit board. After installing a new timer, the refrigerator would trip the circuit breaker in my house when it entered defrost mode. I found that the pink wire running from the control board all the way to the thermostat was shorted somewhere between the two parts, inside the refrigerator. I ran a new "pink" wire and all is good. Since no known error code was on the display I figured it must be the control board. After getting through a fiasco with another website, I ordered the part from AppliancePartsPros.com. The control board is located under the freezer and comes out if you remove 1 self-tapping screw. There was no way to tell if the board was dead, but once we got the new one, we connected all the connectors, plugged in the fridge and viola! it worked again. Read more

The 20 year old unit still serves us well, looks good and has been kept in good repair. The condenser fan had stopped so I removed, cleaned and oiled that motor. The decision was made to make an upgrade to the evaporator motor and control units so that the appliance could reasonably be expected to have extended service life. • Fridge too warm

I determined that this was the part to get based on a previous reviewer's post who had a similar problem. I bought the controller, it shipped quickly and I received it two business days later. I followed the instructions of the previous poster and had the device installed in about an hour. The most difficult part or should I say tedious part was unscrewing and then replacing the panel and screwing everything back in. This issue was with a refrigerator that we acquired with a house we bought. The freezer was cold, making ice well, overall doing great. The refrigerator was not cold however.
